Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tall pint glass. Bottled on March 27th, 2013.

Appearance: Pours a very hazy pale straw golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. About one finger of white head that fades into a thin layer. Leaves a decent amount of lacing around the glass.

Smell: A crisp, zesty, and spicy wheat driven aroma with hints of citrus and grains. Wheat and pale malt upfront with bready hints of grains, straw, crackers, pilsener malt, and yeast. Subtle mix of spices including hints of pepper, clove, and coriander. Slight hint of farmhouse funk. Citrus hints of orange, lemon zest, and pineapple. Hops are very light. A decent wheat aroma.

Taste: Like the aroma hints at, a crisp, clean, zesty, and spicy wheat forward taste with notes of citrus and grains. Wheat, pale, and pilsener malt notes upfront with a taste of grains, straw, crackers, and slight Belgian style yeast. Mix of spices including notes of clove, peppers, , coriander, and a little farmhouse funk. Zesty citrus notes of orange, lemon, and slight pineapple. Very subtle hops. A decent wheat and spice driven taste.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp, clean, and nicely spicy and zesty. Very smooth.

Overall: A nice summer wheat ale. Good citrus and spice notes.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a semi-cloudy pale yellow color, with about 1/4 inch of white head that good retention and lacing.

The aroma had the basic wheat and yeast notes you expect in the style, but delivered in a very subdued manner. Same story on the tongue, very soft wheat, light yeast, and none of the expected coriander and orange. The taste was more along the lines of an American Pale Wheat than a Wit.

The body was very nice, smooth, even, crisp, and with decent carbonation. Drinkability was good, my pint was gone quickly enough. Overall, an example of the style that's missing a bit. A pleasant enough quaff, but not a particularly notable one.

I love this brewer, so let's see what they do with this difficult and hard to set yourself from the pack style.

A: They win on style, big outstanding white, tight head that lasts and laces. Hazy straw body.

S: All the typical aromas, subtle, but a bit medicinal, BEYOND CLOVE + CORIANDER! Light, lemony almost pilsner like.

T: Follows smell. ABOVE CLOVE to MEDICINAL SCALE unfortunately. Over done? Remix?

F: A bit thin, a bit soft, almost flattish, and that OVER DONE MEDICINAL OVERDONE CLOVE aftertaste. It's not bad, but it's too much.

T: The flavor unfortunately follows from the nose in the clove department, it brings a weird bitter note to an otherwise mellow beer. The maltiness is clean Pilsner graininess with a softer wheat tangy note. But the clove yeast character is too strong and accentuates the overly bitter hopping. This one needs to get some revision.

Other reviewers suggested different yeasting approach since yeast is so significant to this style.

I poured a bottle into a pilsener glass.

Appearance- Cloudy light golden color with two fingers worth of head. Lots of runny lacing.

Smell- Light aroma of wheat malt and orange peel.

Taste- Sweet wheat malt flavor with orange peel and clove. The flavors seem a little weaker than what I am used to for this style.

Mouthfeel- On the light end of medium bodied with an above average amount of carbonation.

Overall- Not one of the better witbiers that I have tried. Not a bad beer but it is forgettable.
