This place has everything you will need to make great beer, wine or mead. And if you wan't something special, they will order it for you. If you are just starting out, try out their free how-to classes. The location is not easy to find though. Look for the DP Wigley signage and you will find it.

A few weeks ago I didnt even know that we had a home brew store here in Racine. But I deffinatly glad I found it. Before I found hop to it I was stuck going to Milwaukee after work and fighting the insane hwy 100 traffic. No fun at all. Hop to it is a small store but they have everthing you could want. Very comfortable atmosphere!! I had no problem finding everything on my list. The owner kinda just hung out near by incase I had any questions. which I did, and he answered them expertly. It was nice having him near by but not right on top of me. I loved this place and will deffinatly be telling all my friends about this place. Its kinda hard to find at first because the Building says D.P. wiggely. But once you find The building Its a breeze from there. Even if your just window shopping main street, its worth the one block walk to this place to check out the old timey atmosphere. Very cool!!

This place is unorganized and lacking in supplies. It is not the kind of place that you can just walk into and pick the things you need off the shelf. You almost have to ask for things from the owners and then you have to wait for them to get things together for you (if they even have them). No one is ever there so it makes you wonder how fresh the stock of ingredients can be. It is more expensive than Northern Brewer. If I could get the stuff there that I want it might be worth it to save on shipping or driving cost. But since I can't, I feel like it is only a place I will go to for last minute emergency supplies. The husband and wife owners are the only ones working there. The wife is pleasant enough but the husband really lacks personality. It is hard to see how they stay in business.

New to the Racine area, I found this store when searching online. No brewing supply sign outside, sign says garden and general store. The speakeasy of Homebrew supply stores? The holy grail, perhaps? Great store with friendly knowledgable staff... I came in on a sat morning at 8:25am picking up brew day supplies with my kid and spent 45mins browsing and talking to the owners. Very kid friendly! My 1yr old had a great time. I got exactly the type of recipe I was seeking, and I found some great yeast and hop selections too! I've been back a few times since and will continue to shop here. Check it out! Called with questions and got straight answers and was excited to share my brew in the future.

I had been looking for a local brew-shop for some time now. The places up in Milwaukee were too far away and some things, like lack of friendliness, turned me off from wanting to do business with them.

Hop to it was rather different. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There seemed to be a good selection of brew kits and ingredients.

I spoke with the manager or owner, I am not sure which. He brews beer himself and seemed very knowledgable. He pointed out the specific differences between the brewing equipment kits they have available. He also explained how the differences might affect me when I brew a batch of beer.

Also I understand that there is a homebrew club that meets there regularly.

You can not miss this place. It is in the D.P. Wigley building which by car you have to approach from the North. The whole North side of the building is painted with the D.P. Wigley logo. So you can see the building from several blocks away.
