on-tap @ the brewery
Enjoyed this at the bizarrely enormous Skookum taproom - not necessarily a place I would return to, but a pretty tasty IPA. Sticky pine resin, nice clean citrus hops, traces of booze, earthy tones. I'd go for this again - hit the spot

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a IPA glass.
Look- golden, turbid, cloudy, good lacing, average head retention.
Smell- sweet, fruity, slightly boozy.
Taste- slightly sweet, balanced hoppiness, somewhat boozy, slightly astringent finish.
Feel- carbonation fine, good body.
Overall- somewhat sweet, no real defining flavors, drinkable.

Amber brew with modest foam in the snifter. Apple and grain aroma. Caramel taste with some roasted malt. Sweet and woody, like it spent some time sloshing in the old oaken bucket. Oddly watery mouthfeel. Quite bitter and murky in the aftertaste. This is not one of the stars in the current festival of double IPAs. Sediment in the 12 ox bottle purchased at Haggen Market in Burlington.

Ah sweet Mammoth Jack. A PNW hazy dipa behemoth, and an establisher of the genre for the pnw region, aw well as the dipa style world wide. Let's break it down-
L: just look at the label. An opaque orange, almost brown amber
S: oranges, pears, apple cider, peat, vegetal and tea like aromatics
T: Juicy papaya and guava, pine, hard red wheat, loam, citrus, and a boozy bitterness cleans up
F: nimble, tight, electric, has a zing like a Mac n Jacks
A wild, tasty brew.
Thanks Skookum! And thank you fellow readers, and BA for making this popular.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a fine one finger hite head with great retention and lots of lacing. Aroma of mild caramel malt, tropical fruit, light piney and citrus hops; lightly floral. Inviting. Flavor is light caramel malt, piney and citrus hops with light resin, with caramel malt notes developing in middle taste, then finishing with resinous piney hops with light citrus and a hint of dankness. Nice lingering herbal hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess. One of the sneaky IIPAs that start well balanced and mellow, but then develop a good hop kick. The taste progression is great, the integrated start leads into more flavorful malt then finishes with appropriate IIPA hop finish. Great hop bill. I had a rough start with Skookum ales, but this has me back on track. I like this a lot and look forward to trying their other offerings.

This Indian Pale Ale embodies the North West in a bottle. With a color of a deep yellow or dirty gold producing little to no head with aromatics so strong you'll smell the yeast accompanied by citra hops as it is being poured. When the flavors of hops enters your palate with citrus tones with piney elements to surprise your palate with grapefruit rind on the finish. This ale is one of my all time favorites.
