I received this beer as a gift for the sake of novelty, shipped across the state from Philadelphia. This is a pale stout made with malted wheat, oats, flaked barley, cranberry and (here's the gag) smoked goat brains. I was pleasantly surprised by this beer. The Cranberry is not overpowering...just a slightly fruity backer, while the brains (I guess) add a very nutty / smokey flavor. It was very good, and made for an excellent conversation starter during family X-mas parties.

Label reads, "Malt beverage brewed with roasted goat brains and cranberries." Taste wasn't all that fruity but did have an unidentifiable taste I assume was the brains. Finished quick.

Good beer and a must try for the novelty of it. Be prepared for the finish mouth feel on this one. BRAAAAIIIINS R CREAMY!!!!!

10 oz. pour into a tulip at Teresa's Next Door, Wayne, PA.

A- Mahogany with a tan head. Head is thin but retains well. Great lacing and lots of it.

S- Some fruit notes, not nessecarily cranberry, and a pungent iron aroma (hopefully not from the brains!) A bit of a grain and toasted malt backbone.

T- Iron and malt. A subtle dry sweetness, a little fruit. The latter coming from what I assume is the cranberries. The iron, I am now convinced, comes from the brains.

M- Medium body, slight fizz. Dry finish, with a lot of iron.

O- Interesting? Yes. A great beer? Not exactly. The iron is overwhelming. There is a slight sweetness. I doubt I would have this again.
