I've had this beer before, but finally decided to review it.

This beer looks perfect! The bright, clear yellow beer, the fluffy white foam, the constant stream of fine carbon dioxide bubble, the everlasting lace left by each sip, it was exactly how a beer this style should be made to look like. And importantly, it was served in the proper glassware to accentuate the beauty of this beer.

The smell was clean, hop-forward with a little bit of malt sweetness. And it tasted that way too, but having an assertive Saaz hop bite that was spicy and a little grassy. The malt provided an underlying backbone to support the beer and provide a bit body.

I was looking for a thirst quenching beer after a hot day and I got it in this Pilsner

Pours a clear copperish color with an steady off-white head. The head retention is decent and leaves nice lacing along the glass. The aroma was mostly clean light malt, hint of honey. The taste is great with mostly biscuity flavor and a hint of honey and just a hint of hops. Very crisp and smooth. Very good brew IMO. I could hang with this more often. I don't drink Pilsners to often but this one is a keeper.

BOTM offering...

Pours straw yellow with a nice foamy head, a few fingers, good carbonation and a little bit of lacing. Smell consists of some nice light hops, citrus, and light wheats. Taste follows with well-balanced wheats, citrus, and floral hops. Very nice, very enjoyable. What a pilsner should be.

A- Golden yellow color, semi-cloudy, thin white layer on top, some tiny bubbles rising

S- Sweet, light malts, wheat, biscuits, light fruity auroma

T- Honey, bready, pale malts, citrus, grassy, earthy, bitter finish

M- Light/medium body, medium carbonation, smooth, oily, slightly fizzy

D- Worthy trying

Good flavors but nothing really stands out with this one. Good overall, but not great.

pours like a great pilsner...very pale, white head and simple, good lacing revealed as it settles pretty fast.

nice, but subtle, nose of...raspberries, perhaps?

taste is light, refreshing but pretty complex. at least not what i expected. mouthfeel is an interesting light/creamy. makes this downright drinkable as a session pils or with a great meal. or pub lunch. i can see this going with chinese easily.

a few more sips and i get almost an Urquell sense...plus bitter honey and sweet malt...nutty/seed overall sense, too.

though i still always will favor the masterpiece hophead extremes out there, this suggests another fine light and unique lager for the summer. i need to head out for some of this on tap.

12 oz bottle poured into a pilsner glass, part of my beer of the month club offerings

A—pours clear golden honey color with a 1 ½ inch bright white head that slowly fades to a thin sheet, laces in layers down the side as I drink. A beautiful pilsner.

S—faint grainy notes, very faint overall, I hardly smell anything at all

T—sweet grains, a touch of honey, straw, the flavors are balanced well, this is a good pilsner

M—crisp and refreshing, light bodied, medium carbonation

D—very much so. I would have this again. I am reviewing this while sitting by my pool in the early evening. A great summer relaxation beer.

12oz bottle with a crookedly designed label. I'll also care to note that on the neck label this beer boasts itself as a "voluptuous pilsner."

Clear light gold in color with a respectable white head, which laces the glass only faintly.

The nose is weak. There's something there but there's not enough of it. A faint pilsner scent, no hop presence. The palate isn't very present either but it's better than a macro. I could probably switch beers on some of my Miller Lite-drinking friends and they wouldn't know the difference, perhaps saying, "This is tasting pretty good today!" I mean no disrespect to this beer by comparing it to Miller Lite, because relatively there's much more taste going on here. But on the wider scale it isn't much. It is, however, quite light and drinkable.

Had this on tap at the brewery. Poured a golden yellow, very clear, nice frothy white head that stuck around for a while. Smell was very earthy and crisp, clean malts and some bitter hop notes. Taste had small malt body up front, pretty one dimensional there and then nice crisp and bitter hop finish. Very simple but tasty and refreshing. Great summer/session beer.

a: partially translucent beautiful honeyed gold. Nice bishops collar which dissipates quickly.

n: lemons along with strong spicy saaz hop perfume. Cracker malt base, buttered toast.

t: malt chunkiness up front which finishes hoppy. Spicy saaz tang with sweet and bitter buttered toast. "Green" tasting.

mf: "alive" feeling with prickly sensation with noticeable weight.

d: A+

This beer ran the line on average. It poured a dark straw color with a white head that built up. The head retention was not that great and quickly faded. The smell was a bit hoppy with mostly earthy tones presenting themselves. The taste was average, nothing jumping out from this beverage either malty or hoppy. A descent mouthfeel, not too light or too heavy for a pilsner. Very drinkable, goes down easy and leaves no aftertaste. A good session beer for those of us that avoid CMB.

I couldn't be more underwhelmed. Poured from a bottle, it has no head to speak of and similarly has no fragrance to speak of. I actually checked the bottle to ensure it was a pilsner. It really didn't carry any of the pilsner characteristics I'm used to. No carbonation to speak of, and thin-bodied. Color is gold, but otherwise unremarkable.

Overall, this beer was mediocre, though I will give it the benefit of the doubt and try it again at a later date.

A: Pours a bud light esque yellow with a small white head that disappears in about 3 seconds. Not particularly attractive.
S: Corn, white wine, again, bud light esque.
T: Tastes better than it looks, though still not that impressive. Tastes reminiscent of white wine, with apple flavors and some corn-like sweetness. Finishes very clean with no thought of an aftertaste.
M: Smooth and slick, goes down easily.
D: It could easily be confused for a cheaper light beer, and it goes down like one. I could imagine enjoying these sitting outside on a nice hot day, but since I'm sitting inside on what was a nice day, its not anything special.

The beer pours brilliant straw/golden, with a quickly dissipating white head.

The aroma is somewhat floral, but with notes of corn and an off putting grainy huskiness, indicative of a flaw in the brewing process (too high strike temp, oversparging?). There is a hint of diacetyl as the sample warms. I can detect the barest hint of a woody or spicy hop. The beer is clean, with no fruity esters or phenols.

The first taste is grainy and husky again, with evident tannins. The beer is malty and finishes a little flabby and sweet for a pilsner of any type, let alone a "Bohemian" Pilsner. There were no hops evident in the flavor, and too little hop bitterness.

In the mouth, the beer is of medium body and a bit fluffy. The slickness from diacetyl is noticeable. The carbonation is moderate. The tannic astringency is quite evident.

Overall, I found this sample wanting, first as a Bohemiam Pilsner, and second as any type of pilsner.

This bottle did not taste at all as I had remembered early tastings. Maybe a bad bottle?

Appearance is good and light. Nose is...well, not there. Having just tasted a real Czech pilsner, I missed the heft. Same for the taste as well, regretably. I am wanting to like this as much as I remember it, but no amount of wistfulness can bring back the remembered taste tonight. Sigh.

It feels thin in the mouth. If "drinkability" means the ability to toss down one after the other, this sucker is drinkable--I just don't WANT to drink one after the other.

12 oz bottle, given to me by my brother from his "Beer of the Month Club" selection. Unsure of date. Aggressive pour into plastic (I know, I'm sorry) pilsner glass gives about a two-inch head that stayed with me for a little while before becoming a ring, leaving moderate lacing. The color is golden, and crystal-clear. Smell is a faint aroma of sweet grains, maybe some honey with a taste of clean bitter hops in the front, some sweet grain in the middle, and a finishing-bitterness not unlike the beginning, quite clean. Mouthfeel is very light, with a crisp, clean carbonation. If I lived in this brewery's distribution area, I would seek this out often, especially in the spring and summer (Ironically, it's right at freezing right now with a 10 MPH N wind).

Love this. Darker than a regular pilsner. Maltier as well. Reminiscent of Stroh's Bohemian. That really dates me. Simple, pleasant to drink. Easy to drink. Great with any food or after an afternoon of yard work. He'll, drink it while doing yard work.

Had on tap at Dock Street Brew Pub

A. Served in a tall pilsner glass. Had a nice thinner 2 finger white head that dissipated rather quickly. Body was almost a transparent straw colored and left some lacing in the glass.

S. Granny-Smith apples, wheat, and toasted pinenuts

T. A refreshing blend of flavors such as lemon zest, the tanginess of extra sharp white cheddar, along with some earthy tones of nutty bread.

M. High in carbonation, very refreshing and light with a nice light hint of hops in the finish. Dry, almost Brut in character.

D. Very easy to drink and carries a nice complexity for a pilsner. Definitely worth a try. Great Job Dock Street!
