Appears a hazy light gold with a small white cap. Scattered bits of lacing are left around the glass Small streams of CO2 quickly rise to the top.
Smell is of tart wheat, heavy citrus, coriander, basil, lemongrass, herbs, and flowers. Touch of sulfur dioxide that isn't overly noticable but comes across as being fresh from the secondary.
Taste is of the aromas, with sweet citrus flavor dominating. I'm glad they didn't serve with an orange peel.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, mildly tart, and dry in the finish. The 7.5% is hardly noticable.

Dock Street- Bubbly Wit

A- Hazy orange with a huge frothy head.
S- Deep cloves, orange, and lavender!
T- Thick spicy cloves dominate. Hints of orange peel and a strong perfumy lavender really permeates.
M- Floral spiceness throughout with a dry perfumy finish.

Overall- Potent perfuminess! 1 pint is enough.

On-tap at Spinnerstown Hotel. It appeared a hazy yellow with a short white head. At first I thought this beer was a little thick, but I guess this is more of a double wit. The flavor is a touch sharp and almost salty, it's like the brewing water is hard. Anyways, the beer is otherwise right on the mark with a mix of spicy vanilla and light citrus over soft wheat bread. All in all a tasty beer. Worth a try for anyone that likes Southampton's Double Wit.

a: This was a murky straw colored yellow. It was served to me with a small, white fluffy head.

s: Overwhelmingly sweet bananas leap out of the glass. There is some spiciness to be found underneath, but precious little.

t: This is just too sweet. An imperial wit is not a good idea. All I found here was artificial sweetner and very ripe bananas. Maybe a little pepper as well.

m: Active and creamy carbonation was very welcome, but the body was a little syrupy.

d: I'm all for experimentation, but this isn't the style for it. I couldn't finish mine.

Review from notes on 6/5/10

Hazy, golden yellow with darkish hues, fluffy and white cap. Left rings of lace as I drank. Lots of bananas, very slight hint of citrus, bit of cloves and pepper. Hmm, I'm expecting some more coriander and orange. But smells good nonetheless. The flavor is somewhat of a disappointment, it kind of just dies after each sip. Finish is a bit warm with the alcohol but not really much else. Slickish mouthfeel and smooth carbonation. Probably wouldn't get this again.

Served on tap in a pint glass.

A: Light yellow and very bubbly like a champagne. No head when it was served. Looked very thin.

S: Floral and almost perfumey notes. Sweet fruit scent, but not overly sweet.

T: Sweet like fruit with a little bit of spice underneath. Little bit of a light wheat taste. Little to no aftertaste.

M: Very carbonated but not unpleasantly so. Could use a little more balance.

D: Not a bad beer at all. Would be really good on a hot summer day.

Heavily cloudy straw color, big cap of soapy white froth, little lacing. Scent is quite potent blend of floral notes and spice, lacing a yeast character which is expected in the style. Taste brings a perfumey floralness with strong notes of spice and lemony hops, the malts in the backbone are lightly bready, but the use of champagne yeast really takes away from the overall wit beer experience, still good. Lighter side of medium bodied, bubbly and prickly. A unique take on the style, some strong flavor notes.
