...is our fall seasonal. We brew this beer to celebrate Munich's fifth season, the Oktoberfest season. Stronger than our Munich Märzen, a little less malty, but the same smoothness and full body. Even more süffig(quaffable).

Pour: On Draft. Appearance: Bronze and hazy. Thin white head. Lots of lacing on the glass. Aroma: Not much besides malt. Taste: Malty and bready. Aftertaste: Follows the nose and the taste. Overall: Easy drinker all the way. Good. 3 out of 5.

A: Poured a glowing amber with golden hues with a small white cap

S: caramel, nuts and biscuits

T: Taste is a nice balance of bread and caramel, hint at a light nuts, toffee some light hops, grass

M: Very nice. Light body taste is still very promising

O: Not my fav style but I found this to be very good, easy to drink

Had this beer on-tap tonight at the Hooverville in Seattle.

Appearance: slightly cloudy amber with a finger of tan head, nice and creamy in consistency. Not bad for an on-tap beer, really.

Smell: very mild caramel malt aroma. I'm sure serving temperature didn't exactly help, but even throughout drinking I didn't get much intensity at all.

Taste: rich caramel malt flavor with a solid helping of earthy hops. Malt is so much more prevalent in flavor than aroma, which is a good thing; it's well-balanced and tasty.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good, snappy carbonation. Not creamy, as such, but there's plenty of appealing bite here.

Drinkability: a nicely bitter, malty Oktoberfest. This one just seems to be turned up a notch, and I like it.

Had this at Schultzy's in the U-District. Golden amber color with ample head, which falls to a broken crust. Smells of sweet malt, alcohol, and apples (which is not bad). Taste is sweet caramel, biscuity flavor on the back side, mild hop bittering to offset sweetness, very balanced. Mouthfeel is medium, overall impressions is a very drinkable Oktoberfest, one of few that earn this distinction from me.

I'm told that the recipe for Alpine's Oktoberfest is different from their märzen and that, while they share some core commonalities, they're ultimately two distinctly different beers. Still, having a märzen and Oktoberfest seems a bit redundant, especially for a brewery with such a brief beer roster.

But this deep auburn beer, while not a standout, is very agreeable. It is lagered for eight weeks and emerges clear though still unfiltered. Its profile is one of gentle honey-toast flavor with clear, restrained bittering and a frail, grainy aroma. Enjoyable, but not as exhilarating as some other Alpine beers.

I must of got a fresh sample ( on tap at Uncle Ulis in leavenworth Washinton end of September) so I liked this beer. Mid orange gold with a nice malty nose this is a tasty full bodied marzen with a slightly bready note on the finish. I could drink quite a few of these if they were fresh as I have noticed in past that old OK fest can be off flavoured

Appearance is orange amber, head dissipates fast with light lace. Smell a sweetness of caramel, light fruit. Taste starts out sweet then ends with an off bitter flavor that cloys in the mouth. Mouthfeel is medium that doesn't finish clean. I expected more than than this, maybe because I didn't get it at it's freshest, I'll have to try again with a newer batch.

I split a 22 ounce capped bottle with imacoug.

A: It poured a light brown with an orange hue and a one finger off-white head that held on for a long while and supported a moderate lace.

S: The aroma exhibited some caramel malt scents as well a yeast and grains.

T: It had a sweet caramel flavor complemented by lightly toasted malts. I expected more bite of spices but generally only experienced an even smooth sweetness.

M: It was light to medium-bodied and smooth with a clean aftertaste.

D: It was pleased at how easy it was to drink...sweet, low ABV and clean finish. However, I expected more hops to spice it up and add to its character and depth. It is a fairly one dimensional brew that would not hold my interest for long.

Bomber purchased at Huckleberry's in Spokane for $3.49. First time I'd seen it in bottle, though I've been drinking it for years on tap.

Pours a semi-clear copper color. Modest, light tan head that disappears fast. Very sparse, spotty lace.

Not a terribly bold nose to this, and less noticeable than when its on tap. Malted grain scents, along with a mild caramel sweetness and a little bit of pear-ish fruitiness.

The taste starts off malty and sweet, with notes of caramel and pears. It ends with a hoppy zap - this is a Pacific Northwest beer, after all, so it's not too surprising, but it might put off Oktoberfest purists.

The mouthfeel of this beer is a little too languid. Too flat, and consequently makes this beer seem less interesting than it would have otherwise.

The last few weeks I've been drinking this on tap at a couple of places locally. It's much better when you can get it fresh, and that appears to not be what I'm getting in this bottle. Much as I like the idea of a semi-local O-fest, I won't be buying another bottle of this anytime soon.

I picked up a bomber of Alpine Oktoberfest at an upscale grocery store to taste, review and enjoy. I poured this beer in to a mug.

Pours a rich orange/copper color and is clear. A one-finger bubbly off-white head forms, but dissipates quickly, leaving virtually no lacing. There are many bubbles rising from the bottom of the mug.

The smell is strong and sweet. There is a malted grain aroma, and some fruity floral fragrances like peaches, apricots or perfume.

The taste is sweet and flavorful, with a little smoky caramel flavor, and some sweet fruit. There is a mildly bitter and sharp hop finish. The aftertaste is a little like a bock.

The mouth feel is effervescent, sharp and a little cloying

This is a drinkable beer, and a good representation of the Marzen style. It’s probably not the best amber lager I’ve ever had, but I would have it again, especially in the fall.
