look: 3.75 | smell: 2.75 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3

Appearance: Pours a completely clear, pale yellow color. Almost a silvery shine to it like champagne. MInimal head. SRM of 4. (3.75)

Aroma: Strong aromas of skunk and grass. That's about it. Completely skunked. (2.75)

Flavor: Flavor follows the nose with less skunk obviously. Showcases more grass. Some light white rice, but it's hardly detectable. How can you pick up rice among grass and skunk? Finishes light and dry. (3.50)

Feel: Light, crisp. Decent carbonation for the relative lighter body. Finishes clean and hides the alcohol relatively well. However, I can smell the skunk coming off my breath. (3.75)

Overall: Why go to all the trouble with such a unique bottle, only to green-bottle your beer to make it come out in parallel to a Heineken. Indistinguishable. Cannot detect any flavor in this beer behind the strong skunk. Not sure how to get this fresh as I am drinking this before the best-buy date. Maybe it's better fresh. But for a non-expired beer, nothing should come out like this besides a Heineken. (Final Rating: 3.26)

From the green 300 ml. bottle with no date boited. Sampled on August 20, 2019.

It looks like a lager with is golden-yellow appearance and modest white head that slowly diminishes. Decent clarity.

I do pick up a drop of honey on the nose along with a grainy and grassy character.

Light but smooth comfortable body.

The taste also had a sweet honey element with a grainy under current and a mild to moderate, clean finish. Nothing extra special about it.

Clear and light golden yellow body; lively carbonation; thin yet lasting white head. A little cereal grain and grassiness; honey-like. Light malt flavor; grassy; minerally; light hop presence. Light body; crisp and dry.

One of the English language web sites for this beer (https://www.luckydrinkco.com/) indicates that rice is used along with malt grain. Assuming rice is a major proportion for the beer, it is pretty light and tasty.

Definitely not to be confused with Funky Buddha...definitely...

I picked this up simply because the bottle caught my eye. I checked it out on BA and still decided to give it a try. Why? Well, I just *have* to find out for myself...and boy, did I. This is your prototypical adjunct beer - I don't care that this page says Euro Pale Lager - this reminds me more of the beers I used to drink in high school and try craft. It even has that yellow, sickly color to it, though it did pour out a nice head of foam. But that's pretty much it. The smell reminds me of the Billy Joel song, "...the microphone smells like a beer..." smell, with a mouthfeel that is all water and carbonation. The only thing I noted was the adjunct rice or wheat or whatever - a malt I just have lost a taste for. Though not terrible, it's not something at this point in time in my life I will be spending dollars on moving forward.

Okay, great bottle! Drinking from a Green Buddha is pretty cool! The beer is crap. Really this is some strange beer! It looks good straw, a golden colour but a very thin head! But what s that smell, cat pee, burnt yeast? Those Chinese! Drink and ask yourself, what is in this beer?

Wow! I really dig this bottle design. There is no date anywhere on the bottle. The beer pours a thin head with a fair amount of carbonation for the style. The aroma is loud & skunky but I do enjoy some skunky pale lager from time to time. On to the taste, this beer is watered down with some slight hops & barley on the backend. I agree that Lucky Buddha is average for this style, but I don't think it's as bad as some folks are saying it is. Cheers! B-

Standard American Style lager. I think I picked up a hint of skunkyness on the nose. Pale yellow. Had a very fluffy head of moderate thickness. The taste wasn't impressive but it was still somewhat decent. A little creamy. It's easy to drink.

Do not buy this beer and have expectations that you will have a session. (You'll have only one and move on to better stuff.)
Do not have this beer with a nice meal as it really complements very little that you'd want to have again.
No, there is only one really useful purpose for Lucky Buddha: have it to wash-down leftovers of a not-so-good lunch. I did that twice; but that was enough.
And if you do have Lucky Buddha, pour it into an opaque coffee mug because you don't want Look at it. It will spoil your appetite (a very sickly yellow.) You'll have to work hard to Smell barley malt, but I got one wiff once. Tastes are OK as it is not descriptive; same for way it sits in the mouth only briefly to wash down food.... for which I give it an OA hug. I also went on their website which is different; but finding the English button did keep me longer.

Curious that I find Lucky Buddha in a small beer store in the Midwest. I suppose the Buddha is in everything if you look.
But I did have to buy a sixer. Lucky Buddha will make great gifts to my nephews have just become of age. But in truth, I'll have to remind them there is a big craft beverage world out there that offer many, many paths to enlightenment.

it's light, crisp and more of a bright almost citrus flavor in the finish than other simple lagers. i like how the thick bottle retains coldness for a bit longer. it's not trying to be an exquisite explosion of flavor, but it offers a better alternative to your corona/heineken/etc.

overall an okay lager. It has a slight "stinky" smell, but the flavor is very mild. It reminds me of a light beer with more flavor, almost like a heinken. The bottle is honestly the best part. I am glad i tried it, but is a novelty compared to better lagers.

Look: like unhealthy pee pee
Smell: broccoli that's been urinated out a diseased weiner
Taste: considering the attributes above not as bad as one would expect. Like a deep bottom shelf beer. Oh well...
Feel: like a frozen loogie going down the throat

Overall it's a piss-poor beer but I would drink in the event that I really wanted to get drunk and there was nothing else to drink

Not nearly as foul as many people describe, though it is about as interesting as watching a candle melt. I oddly enjoyed the heavy carbonation in this otherwise straightforward lager.

¿También te llamó la atención y la compraste por su botella?. ¿Sí?. Yo también fui uno de ellos. Es lager muy sencilla, dorada, con un pequeño aroma a malta y lúpulo. En boca es acuosa, con poco gusto.

330 ml bottle into lager glass, bottled on 1/6/2017. Pours crystal clear pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light corn/pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with pale malt/corn and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light corn/pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light corn/pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Bit of skunky aromas/flavors, but not overwhelming. Nice robustness and balance of pale malt/corn and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal fruity/yeasty notes present. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and fairly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.8%. Overall this a good euro pale lager. All around good robustness and balance of pale malt/corn and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. This held up pretty great considering the date. Very clean pale malts/grains, and solid earthy hop presence/balance. Not overdone on adjuncts. A nicely enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

Look: Thin, clear yellow with almost no white head. What attracts people is definitely the Buddha bottle.

Smell: Skunky sweet malt.

Taste: Very mild malt bready malt taste, with a little bit of skunkiness.

Mouthfeel: Slightly thin, highly carbonated.

Overall: A very dull Euro lager that got just as skunked as every other Euro lager in a green bottle.

Fun bottle. Freaks folks out at first glimpse. Beer was fine, but, it may have been through a couple of temperature variations before it made my beer frig. Impacted overall taste.

I picked this "little" Buddha up today and it was pretty good not the best but not the worst. Its head is white and quite big and fluffy. The aroma is a nice light hoppyness and vague citrus. The taste is nice and light. And color is pale yellow. Overall this is a beer more for decoration than anything but still is a so so beer.

Bought a single bottle, and poured it in my ceramic beer mug. It's a very pale straw color with a fluffy white head that dissipates rather quickly. I noticed the aroma that others commented about, but wouldn't say it's skunky. It reminds me of Heineken or Pilsner Urquell, and I suspect it's just the variety of hops they used for bittering, and none of it really comes through in the flavor. Overall, this is a very drinkable lager that comes in a fun bottle. I'm not sure I'd stock it, but I might order it if I'm feeling like beer at the Asian restaurant in Marquette (as they serve it by the bottle.)

Not bad for what it is. I bought a twelve pack of cans from an international food market nearby. I don't generally drink this kind of beer, but I thought I'd give it a try. I believe that beer, especially imported beers should be bought canned as often as possible; bottling in my opinion raises the risk of fouling the taste. Probably not worth 15.99 per twelve pack, but I can mark it off my list, and give it a better rating than most others have, though most others fell for the "cool" (though probably skunky) bottled version.

Slight skunk on the nose, but honestly not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Acceptable for a lawnmower beer I reckon, but the bottle is still the best thing about this

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Poured from a green buddha shaped bottle. You know from the bottle color what this is going to smell like and the skunk bursts from the bottle on opening, big time. Pours a light to medium golden amber with aone finger white head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma is somewhat sour grainy malt and skunk. There are hints of light adjunct malt in there, but they are nearly masked. Flavor is better, typical international adjunct lager mild, sweet malt with a hint of grassy hops, very attenuated, light flavor that is actually better in the finish, where light adjunct malt is present into a slightly tart, ligthly grassy hop conclusion. Medium bodied with slight creaminess. Well the bottle is inviting and makes me want to like this despite all, but sadly, this is a really poorly made beer. The flavor is lighter and less interesting than any adjunct lager I've ever had. It is actually puzzling how this could be so skunked when the hops are as light as they are (isn't it an interaction of the hops with light?). Adjunct lagers are designed to be innocuous and harmless and this one is that, but very forgettable.

Purchased because the bottle is lit as fuck.

Pours a relatively clear straw color with a hefty effervescent white head. Has minimal retention and lacing.

The aroma is skunky and metallic, with a hint of sweet corn.

The taste is basically carbonated water with cornbread soaking at the bottom. Not pleasant.

The feel is about right for the style. Lighter in body with lively carbonation. Crisp.

Overall, I guess this is OK if you absolutely have to have a beer on a sweltering hot day. But there are far better, cheaper options out there. This one is definitely not worth your time. Even for the bottle.
