Drank straight from the bottle. Nose is full skunk with some rice. No alcohol burn or bitterness, went down easy. Little to no aftertaste. Its decent, but didn't really leave an impression other than funkiness.

Just another generic rice beer. It has a bright yellow appearance. The aroma smells like slightly burnt rice. The taste is much the same as a Budweiser or any other rice based lager.

12oz green bottle stamped 2731 17:55 poured into a vintage pint glass at fridge temp 4.8% ABV. Label says it's brewed and bottled at Matt Brewing NY. The beer pours bright, very pale gold with off white head. The head recedes to a pencil thin ring and island leaving rings of lacing after each sip. The aroma is skunk, hay and light malt in that order. The taste is semisweet, slightly skunky, with a hint of malt and hay. Minimal bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin bodied with above average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, ok rice beer.

Put off trying this one for a while because the bottle suggests over compensation was likely. One of the worst tasting beers I've ever had in my life (from a bottle). Somewhere in the ballpark of Tsintao but none of the clean qualities - had a dirty taste closer to animal urine. Would probably be a more useful weapon in a barfight than addition in an esky.

L: Poured a pale gold with a frothy white 2 finger head that quickly disappears, leaving be hind a thin white cap and little lacing on the glass.
S: Lightly hoppy aroma with a little spice.
T: Peppery hop taste with no malt flavor to back it up.
F: Smooth and lightly tingly on the tongue, easily quaffable. No alcohol burn.
O: easy to drink several in one sitting. Much preferred over Tsing Tao. Not as dry as Asahi. Overall, not bad for a rice beer.

Total panther piss. But the coolest bottle ever, well worth the purchase. Immerse the bottles in ice, serve mind-numbingly cold, drink directly out of the bottle and everyone's happy.

Simple flavors as expected so i had it with dinner. It has a slight skunky smell but it didn't translate to taste which is a guy thing. Slightly sweet. On par for this style as i thought it would be.

I really liked it. It has some lime notes, it is light and refreshing. Its smoother then I thought it would be which is great. Delicious summer drink, and the bottle is beautiful!

Let's address one thing to start. This bottle is the coolest I've ever seen for any packaged beverage in my opinion. 5/5 for sure on the packaging. The beer, however, is very average and similar to every Euro green bottled lager of all time. The beer pours into the classic straw color of most green bottle brews, but does produce a fairly frothy white top for a beer as session-like as this. Corn and grain notes are prominent in the scent and thats really accurate for the taste too. Not really impressed, but it is smooth, crisp and refreshing. Would I enjoy it if I was having a steak dinner? Probably not my choice for the "only one beer tonight" night. But, the Buddha will protect you from the next morning hangover if you crack one too many of his enlightened beer. I had good fortune and luck the day after crushing a few.

Great tasting beer. Crisp. Easy drinking. Taste like a typical European green bottled beer. Very pleased. The taste matches the beauty of it's bottle.

L: Pours straw yellow with a nice two-finger white head with decent retention.
S: Sweet grains, malty, corn, bread.
T: Taste certainly follows the nose, nothing to extraordinary about it though.
F: Light-medium bodied, high carbonation, crisp, refreshing & crushable.
O: Not a bad brew at all, certainly one you could session.

Bottle is awesome but didnt match the brew inside. Very non-memorable and very ho-hum compared to some other asiatic lagers. Easy to drink and not unpleasant, but not worth the price just for cool bottle

besides having one of the coolest bottles ever, this brew is lacking anything resembling a personality.
however, if you are looking to just hammer a six out and could care less about *how* the brew get you there, you probably won't be disappointed. it is pretty "lively" compared to say Coors or Miller etc.
just don't mistake the cool bottle for housing anything unique.
this is a pretty great sessioner though, especially given the novelty.

330ml Buddha bottle
Smells and looks like corn. Corny. Actually looks very beautiful, clear, piss-yellow, very carbonated with a champagne like foam. But the smell and taste is all burned corn and alky hol
It's very average, bordering on below average. Extra points for Buddha bottle

Appearance slightly darker than a usual lager of this variety, a little brown. Usual 12 finger head that quickly vanished into
ring of froth, (it gains a plus 0.25 for a unique bottle). Slight vegetable aroma. Taste is relatively tasteless save for a bit of rice and corn coming through. Mouthfeel is slightly soapy and fizzy. I didn't care for it.

Thanks to JLindros for sharing this beer. Very cool Buddha bottle.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice crystal clear golden hue with a fat one finger white head that fades to leave thin wisps.
S - Aromas of sweet malts, almost corn like, decent rice element however the rice develops a bit of a burnt quality. Very little bit of skunk like aroma.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with big malt sweetness and a flash of rice. The rice element is pleasant but it's almost got a burnt flavour. Almost skunky.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, crisp, clean.
O - Overall this was a solid enough rice lager, my only knock is that it's on a skunky side...plus the rice has a bit of a burnt aroma and flavour. Still, solid enough.

Found on a whim, shared with rudzud for the lolz
POurs a med foamy frothy head with moderate retention, a bit of lacing, crystal clear golden straw color
Nose is interesting, lots of raw malt and rice wine like, lots of Asian but soft lager, a bit of floral hops, a bit of toasted burnt rice, grainy malt and sweet rice mostly, touch of skunk
Taste more sweet rice and grainy malt, doughy like lager malt, light in general but fair malt character, toasted rice, some sweetness and sugar character, light herbal hop with a hint of bitterness, a touch of skunk again, a bit of burnt rice and old malt character
Mouth is med to lighter bod, low to med carb, light in general
Overall surprisingly better than I thought, but still skunky and thin, but malt was decent

I didn't know this was a rice lager when I bought it, sad I know. Anyway, it is not a horrible beer....it just is not a good beer. The taste is kinda weak and the feel is skunky overall but the bottle looks great. Maybe it is a great rice lager?? But I just can't say it is a great tasting beer overall.
