To start, I am a collector of all different types of bottles, so the look of this bottle drew me in as something to keep when I was finished with the beer, regardless of whether or not I liked it. Now onto the important part.

A: Plain, with a pale peach colour. Similar to what Coors or Bud Light looks like.

S: Neutral. Nothing special. Has the smell of stale Cheerios.

T: Surprisingly, this beer is tasty! Has a sweet taste to start, followed by what I would describe as freshly made bread. Nothing too harsh with this beer at all.

F: Has a thick swallow to it. Light carbonation, but enough to give you the refreshing burn. Has great drinkability, as once you are done with a sip, you want to go for another!

Overall, I would say this beer is quite refreshing, and can be drank at anytime of the day. I wouldn't get drunk on this beer, but is a great beer to have around, plus you get a cool bottle!

A pale yellow color with a one finger white fizzy head with poor retention. The beer is clear with good carbonation.

N: A slight skunky aroma, bread, yeast, corn, hay, and a some floral,

T: Skunky, yeasty, corn, hay, and some toasted crackers.

M: Carbonated, and light body.

O: Not a very good beer it does have a cool looking bottle.

12 fl Buddha bottle - 10.99 locally for six

I believe the listing is incorrect because this beer is brewed in China under the supervision of Cheerday Brewery for Lucky Drink Co. Their website even states "Brewed and bottled at the Thousand Island Lake in China fusing the finest quality malt, hops, rice and water from this pristine region delivering an Asian style lager that is truly an enlightened brew."

As for the brew it has that classic euro pale lager funk and a crispy funk taste, overall very mellow hop flavour and a decent balance with a bit of smoothness found in rice lagers. Pours a mild yellow with small lacing / head and has limited smell outside of funk ale. Decent, think a smoother Grolsch.

I just love this bottle - if you're gonna drink a lager why not go for this? I mean come on it comes in a green buddah shaped bottle for crying out loud. As far as taste goes it's a fairly straight forward lager. Nothing to write home about. I am not so sure it's a true a "pale euro lager" on par with a Stella but it's definitely better than any of the standard American "adjunct lagers" for sure.

4.7% ABV. Brewed with rice.
Poured into lager glass.
Clear light golden with decent white head, moderate retention, some laces.
Smell - grainy, slightly corny, rice, a bit papery.
Taste - clean malty, rather sweet, adjuncts, queer hues.
Light & crisp.

Not sure why this is listed as "Australia" since both the bottle and the website state it is brewed and bottle in China.
Pours crystal clear pale gold with a short head that disappeared fast and left nothing. Nose is grainy and slightly sweet...actually decent for an EPL but no real hops noticed. Flavor is...hurray, it's not skunked. Basically a crisp euro lager..a bit of hay and Apple as some others have said. Not much there, although I'm not waiting for it to warm to room temp to see what else emerges. Mouthfeel is on the watery side. Hi overall, not a bad EPL choice with a pizza.

Incredibly clear. Like looking through a yellow tinted window. Smells slightly skunked until you get your nose in there, a little metallic similar to a Heineken. Taste isn't special

Poured from 11.2 oz bottle into pilsner glass. Appearance: pours a 1" white head that drops moderately with some light lacing. Color is somewhat cloudy light gold with moderate streaming carbonation. Aroma: yeasty white bread, a bit of grassy hops. Mouthfeel: light and watery, with a damp finish. Flavor: mild barley sweetness, a bit of paperiness, some grassy hops, and sour tang that borders on the edge of unpleasant. Overall: ok, but just not much going on here. The body is light and flavor profile is as well.

Pours a clear yellow with 1 finger head. Smells very malty. Tastes very watered down with a malty finish. Okay carbonation, okay lacing. Cool bottle design. Wouldn't buy again.

It was the bottle that caught my eye. Average pale lager, light malt aroma, even lighter taste. Very mild bready finish. Light, wispy head, very pale golden body. Easy to drink, easy to forget.

This beer was listed as craft beer where we ate tonight and I was thinking "Funky Buddha", which is good craft beer. This is a typical chinese-style mass produced bland lager with rice, and probably the most watery and thin beer I've ever tasted. Beautiful bottle though.

Poured out of that cool as hell looking bottle

A: straw to dark colored gold clear body nice fluffy looking head

S: light corn and some rice with a little bit of an off smell like cardboard

T: taste follows the nose perfectly with the cardboard oxidation coming out strongly on the finish

M: Standard for a regular lager lighter to crisp

O: Except for the awful cardboard and oxidation taste of this beer it wouldn't be too much different than most macro AAL beers. It would probably benefit by not being in the green bottles.

This is a light international lager. It uses rice along with barley malt to make it lighter, which is reasonable in a Chinese beer. But, no beer lover would want to drink this stuff. The bottles are beautiful. I bought a second six pack just for the bottles to decorate a window. Of course, green bottles, especially for an import, means drink it fast and keep it in the dark or else instead of no taste you get skunked beer. It will be too late when bought from most stores. If you for some reason actually like the beer then buy it in cans - which they do produce. But the best part is the bottles, so you can't win.

Another purchase due to the interesting green Buddha bottle. I will probably re-use it to bottle mead or cider... I may buy a few more, just for the bottles!

Pours a very, very pale straw with a thin white head.

Aroma is the worst aspect of this beer. Badly skunked due to the green bottle. This is really the only note you get in the smell.

Taste... What little there is... Is non-offensive light lager. The taste is pretty much overwhelmed by the skunky aroma.

Body is thin and watery. Lively carbonation.

Buy it for the bottle. It's an easy drinker... If you can get past the skunk!

Pours a pale straw yellow, not much of a foam head on it.
Has that strong skunky Euro Pale Lager smell like others of its kind.
Tastes weaker, and a little more watery than other big name Euro Pale Lagers of its kind.
Drinks smooth though, easy to put down, the worst part of it is the smell.

Overall, not worth the 2 dollar bottle, even if the bottle is neat looking.

I admit it, I bought this one because of the bottle. I bought a few beers tonight that I've been seeing on the shelf for years, but never tried. So far, I see that I was right to avoid these for as long as I did.

It pours an entirely translucent straw color (as there is almost no head, I can read a receipt that the glass is set on, top to bottom). This, plus a slightly skunky odor, made me think it might have been better if drank straight from the green Buddha bottle.

It tastes like a flatter version of Coors Banquet beer--not the most repulsive thing I've tasted. But with it's other lacking qualities, I may be headed to the sink with it unless something "lucky" or "enlightening" happens to me in the next few sips.

Not brewed by Lucky Drink Australia, it's brewed by a brewery in China, distributed by Lucky Drink in Australia, and then distributed into the US through a distributor in CA. Anyway, it doesn't taste awful. It's not as bad as Becks, kinda like heineken, worse than a Grolsch.

Light golden color, sweet watery taste, high carbonation, light mouthfeel. The bottle is what intrigued me, but the taste made me glad I only bought a single bottle. Would not drink again.

A very cool bottle, but wasted on a very below average beer. I fully intended on liking this beer based on the bottle alone, but alas, I could not. It's sort of like a bad Rolling Rock. It smelled skunky. Maybe that's normal, or maybe it's because of the green bottle that lets in too much light. It didn't taste all that skunky, though, so that's a plus! This is just a typical AAL in a superb package, which is why my overall score is a 4.0.

Looks nicely carbonated, lighter. Small head. Awesome bottle.

Smells of a regular macro lager. Sweet notes.

Taste is very basic, of a macro lager but crisp. Mostly of grain. Very basic, but ends smooth.

Mouthfeel is pretty good. Smooth all the way thru.

Overall it is a simple bill, but very drinkable. A step up above typical American macros. If looking for something smooth, non-offensive, this fits the bill.

Free bottle from my local craft shop. Not expecting much but who knows.

Look - Pours crystal clear yellow with a finger of bone white head that leaves quicker than it showed up. Carbonation appears nearly dead. Lacing isn't even a factor.

Smell - This is the most skunked thing I have ever put up to my nose. There is nothing else to mention in this department.

Taste - More skunk. Bit of white bread. Even more skunk.

Feel - Medium bodied with zero carbonation. Swallows like water and thankfully drops the skunk.

Overall - Not much to say. Another generic green bottled euro lager.

The five is for the rad bottle. Best part of this beer. Otherwise just a watery lager. Smells like your typical green bootle Heineken or moose head or what have you but hardly has any flavor. Maybe if wet is a flavor. It is wet.

dat bottle doe....

I could always use a little enlightenment to make up for my poor life choices. So when the opportunity to try this "enlightened beer" came around I didn't want to miss my chance.

First impressions are, great bottle, and I am going to save that one. Once opened, I poured into a cold glass. Basic white froth, aroma light and sweet if any. Light yellow color, straw I guess you could say. Taste is sweet, notes of honey, but finishes pretty poorly. No really malt presences. Mouthfeel is silky, lingering finish.

Over all it is what it is. A Chinese made beer for the masses. Points for bottle creativity, points subtracted for lacking enlightenment.

Picked this up at Joe Canal's in Woodbridge not too long ago, having never had or seen this before. Yes, the bottle was the best attribute of this beer but it didn't taste anywhere near as bad as I thought it would and easily beat out the big-market Macros that this would inevitably end up being lumped in with. Since this was only sold via the single bottle, I didn't buy more than one but I would grab six of these at a time if they were sold that way!

Nice golden pour to this with a thin head that settled down pretty quickly. Not a big aroma to this either there was just some grain and honey to it that wasn't easily discernible. Lots of dough in the taste along with a hint of filler and some grass in the aftertaste, with the feel of blood orange juiciness to keep this light and lively. Good amount of carbonation here and fuller than other European counterparts of this style, with the grain sticking around a bit in the aftertaste. No skunkiness in this bottle, thank God!

A nice amount of alcohol kept this at the session level and it would have been easy to down another bottle of this after giving it the inspection. Can't say that I've seen or had anything like this and even though it was an Australian beer brewed in China, this stood up as well as anything like this from Europe or America. Great for the summer when a simple "lawnmower beer" just won't cut it!

Clear Pale yellow color with plain white head and very light lacing. Skunky smell and an off putting taste. Decent finish but definitely a beer you'd wanna drink very cold but then it's not worth the price
