Let's address one thing to start. This bottle is the coolest I've ever seen for any packaged beverage in my opinion. 5/5 for sure on the packaging. The beer, however, is very average and similar to every Euro green bottled lager of all time. The beer pours into the classic straw color of most green bottle brews, but does produce a fairly frothy white top for a beer as session-like as this. Corn and grain notes are prominent in the scent and thats really accurate for the taste too. Not really impressed, but it is smooth, crisp and refreshing. Would I enjoy it if I was having a steak dinner? Probably not my choice for the "only one beer tonight" night. But, the Buddha will protect you from the next morning hangover if you crack one too many of his enlightened beer. I had good fortune and luck the day after crushing a few.

Great tasting beer. Crisp. Easy drinking. Taste like a typical European green bottled beer. Very pleased. The taste matches the beauty of it's bottle.

L: Pours straw yellow with a nice two-finger white head with decent retention.
S: Sweet grains, malty, corn, bread.
T: Taste certainly follows the nose, nothing to extraordinary about it though.
F: Light-medium bodied, high carbonation, crisp, refreshing & crushable.
O: Not a bad brew at all, certainly one you could session.

Bottle is awesome but didnt match the brew inside. Very non-memorable and very ho-hum compared to some other asiatic lagers. Easy to drink and not unpleasant, but not worth the price just for cool bottle

besides having one of the coolest bottles ever, this brew is lacking anything resembling a personality.
however, if you are looking to just hammer a six out and could care less about *how* the brew get you there, you probably won't be disappointed. it is pretty "lively" compared to say Coors or Miller etc.
just don't mistake the cool bottle for housing anything unique.
this is a pretty great sessioner though, especially given the novelty.

330ml Buddha bottle

Smells and looks like corn. Corny. Actually looks very beautiful, clear, piss-yellow, very carbonated with a champagne like foam. But the smell and taste is all burned corn and alky hol

It's very average, bordering on below average. Extra points for Buddha bottle

Appearance slightly darker than a usual lager of this variety, a little brown. Usual 12 finger head that quickly vanished into
ring of froth, (it gains a plus 0.25 for a unique bottle). Slight vegetable aroma. Taste is relatively tasteless save for a bit of rice and corn coming through. Mouthfeel is slightly soapy and fizzy. I didn't care for it.

Thanks to JLindros for sharing this beer. Very cool Buddha bottle.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice crystal clear golden hue with a fat one finger white head that fades to leave thin wisps.

S - Aromas of sweet malts, almost corn like, decent rice element however the rice develops a bit of a burnt quality. Very little bit of skunk like aroma.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with big malt sweetness and a flash of rice. The rice element is pleasant but it's almost got a burnt flavour. Almost skunky.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, crisp, clean.

O - Overall this was a solid enough rice lager, my only knock is that it's on a skunky side...plus the rice has a bit of a burnt aroma and flavour. Still, solid enough.

Found on a whim, shared with rudzud for the lolz
POurs a med foamy frothy head with moderate retention, a bit of lacing, crystal clear golden straw color

Nose is interesting, lots of raw malt and rice wine like, lots of Asian but soft lager, a bit of floral hops, a bit of toasted burnt rice, grainy malt and sweet rice mostly, touch of skunk

Taste more sweet rice and grainy malt, doughy like lager malt, light in general but fair malt character, toasted rice, some sweetness and sugar character, light herbal hop with a hint of bitterness, a touch of skunk again, a bit of burnt rice and old malt character

Mouth is med to lighter bod, low to med carb, light in general

Overall surprisingly better than I thought, but still skunky and thin, but malt was decent

I didn't know this was a rice lager when I bought it, sad I know. Anyway, it is not a horrible beer....it just is not a good beer. The taste is kinda weak and the feel is skunky overall but the bottle looks great. Maybe it is a great rice lager?? But I just can't say it is a great tasting beer overall.

I tried this be er because it said it was a rice logger, so I was hoping it would be gluten-free. First of all the bottle caught my eye. Having tried many gluten-free beers I really enjoyed the taste and the smell of this beer. I noticed the feel in my mouth afterwards was a little grainy feeling but that is also common in a gluten-free beer. As long as the malt in it does not bother me I would definitely buy this again.

Tastes like Rolling Rock had sex with a Heineken while high on skunk piss. The bottle is really cool. I mistook this beer as being from Funky Buddha. Big mistake. It says Lucky Buddha, but hopefully it's luckier than it tastes.

What can be said here that hasn't already been said? How about, "Why do you people insist in 2020 to keep putting beer in green bottles?" Imagine a heavily watered skunky Rolling Rock and you have captured the essence. A good sobering-up beer...

Look: Lucky Buddha Enlightened Beer had a light golden colour with a low level of foam.
Smell: Lucky Buddha Enlightened Beer had a grainy smell of beer with a faint floral aroma.
Taste: Lucky Buddha Enlightened Beer had flavours of adjunct mixed with assorted grains.
Feel: Lucky Buddha Enlightened Beer lost its carbonation pretty fast.
Overall: Lucky Buddha Enlightened Beer is a beer for people who seek a rice lager which tastes like an adjunct beer.
I was at an overpriced fancy Taiwanese restaurant in Glendale, CA/USA. Me and two other people had to split the costs to purchase a 300ml bottle of Lucky Buddha Enlightened Beer for $6.50 USD.

I'm not a lager snob by any means, nor an East Asian adjunct lager snob. So rest assured this review is in-style. Head disappears in seconds, a tiny bit of lacing. Smells like canned vegetables. Mouthfeel is quite lively and bouncy, but it's got a cloying taste to it and the sweetness is off-putting.

A cool bottle, for which I will find a new purpose, but other than that I wouldn't touch this beer again.

Lucky Buddha pours a pale color, with a nice longer lasting head. Smells like a skunk. Flavor is light, a little skunk, sweet malty hints of off chemicals. Fizzy, but there is some feel to it. Overall, not the worst, light flavors mask some of the offensiveness.

Appearance: Pours a completely clear, pale yellow color. Almost a silvery shine to it like champagne. MInimal head. SRM of 4. (3.75)

Aroma: Strong aromas of skunk and grass. That's about it. Completely skunked. (2.75)

Flavor: Flavor follows the nose with less skunk obviously. Showcases more grass. Some light white rice, but it's hardly detectable. How can you pick up rice among grass and skunk? Finishes light and dry. (3.50)

Feel: Light, crisp. Decent carbonation for the relative lighter body. Finishes clean and hides the alcohol relatively well. However, I can smell the skunk coming off my breath. (3.75)

Overall: Why go to all the trouble with such a unique bottle, only to green-bottle your beer to make it come out in parallel to a Heineken. Indistinguishable. Cannot detect any flavor in this beer behind the strong skunk. Not sure how to get this fresh as I am drinking this before the best-buy date. Maybe it's better fresh. But for a non-expired beer, nothing should come out like this besides a Heineken. (Final Rating: 3.26)

From the green 300 ml. bottle with no date boited. Sampled on August 20, 2019.

It looks like a lager with is golden-yellow appearance and modest white head that slowly diminishes. Decent clarity.

I do pick up a drop of honey on the nose along with a grainy and grassy character.

Light but smooth comfortable body.

The taste also had a sweet honey element with a grainy under current and a mild to moderate, clean finish. Nothing extra special about it.

Clear and light golden yellow body; lively carbonation; thin yet lasting white head. A little cereal grain and grassiness; honey-like. Light malt flavor; grassy; minerally; light hop presence. Light body; crisp and dry.

One of the English language web sites for this beer (https://www.luckydrinkco.com/) indicates that rice is used along with malt grain. Assuming rice is a major proportion for the beer, it is pretty light and tasty.

Definitely not to be confused with Funky Buddha...definitely...

I picked this up simply because the bottle caught my eye. I checked it out on BA and still decided to give it a try. Why? Well, I just *have* to find out for myself...and boy, did I. This is your prototypical adjunct beer - I don't care that this page says Euro Pale Lager - this reminds me more of the beers I used to drink in high school and try craft. It even has that yellow, sickly color to it, though it did pour out a nice head of foam. But that's pretty much it. The smell reminds me of the Billy Joel song, "...the microphone smells like a beer..." smell, with a mouthfeel that is all water and carbonation. The only thing I noted was the adjunct rice or wheat or whatever - a malt I just have lost a taste for. Though not terrible, it's not something at this point in time in my life I will be spending dollars on moving forward.

Okay, great bottle! Drinking from a Green Buddha is pretty cool! The beer is crap. Really this is some strange beer! It looks good straw, a golden colour but a very thin head! But what s that smell, cat pee, burnt yeast? Those Chinese! Drink and ask yourself, what is in this beer?

Wow! I really dig this bottle design. There is no date anywhere on the bottle. The beer pours a thin head with a fair amount of carbonation for the style. The aroma is loud & skunky but I do enjoy some skunky pale lager from time to time. On to the taste, this beer is watered down with some slight hops & barley on the backend. I agree that Lucky Buddha is average for this style, but I don't think it's as bad as some folks are saying it is. Cheers! B-

Standard American Style lager. I think I picked up a hint of skunkyness on the nose. Pale yellow. Had a very fluffy head of moderate thickness. The taste wasn't impressive but it was still somewhat decent. A little creamy. It's easy to drink.

Do not buy this beer and have expectations that you will have a session. (You'll have only one and move on to better stuff.)
Do not have this beer with a nice meal as it really complements very little that you'd want to have again.
No, there is only one really useful purpose for Lucky Buddha: have it to wash-down leftovers of a not-so-good lunch. I did that twice; but that was enough.
And if you do have Lucky Buddha, pour it into an opaque coffee mug because you don't want Look at it. It will spoil your appetite (a very sickly yellow.) You'll have to work hard to Smell barley malt, but I got one wiff once. Tastes are OK as it is not descriptive; same for way it sits in the mouth only briefly to wash down food.... for which I give it an OA hug. I also went on their website which is different; but finding the English button did keep me longer.

Curious that I find Lucky Buddha in a small beer store in the Midwest. I suppose the Buddha is in everything if you look.
But I did have to buy a sixer. Lucky Buddha will make great gifts to my nephews have just become of age. But in truth, I'll have to remind them there is a big craft beverage world out there that offer many, many paths to enlightenment.

it's light, crisp and more of a bright almost citrus flavor in the finish than other simple lagers. i like how the thick bottle retains coldness for a bit longer. it's not trying to be an exquisite explosion of flavor, but it offers a better alternative to your corona/heineken/etc.
