This is a light international lager. It uses rice along with barley malt to make it lighter, which is reasonable in a Chinese beer. But, no beer lover would want to drink this stuff. The bottles are beautiful. I bought a second six pack just for the bottles to decorate a window. Of course, green bottles, especially for an import, means drink it fast and keep it in the dark or else instead of no taste you get skunked beer. It will be too late when bought from most stores. If you for some reason actually like the beer then buy it in cans - which they do produce. But the best part is the bottles, so you can't win.

Another purchase due to the interesting green Buddha bottle. I will probably re-use it to bottle mead or cider... I may buy a few more, just for the bottles!

Pours a very, very pale straw with a thin white head.

Aroma is the worst aspect of this beer. Badly skunked due to the green bottle. This is really the only note you get in the smell.

Taste... What little there is... Is non-offensive light lager. The taste is pretty much overwhelmed by the skunky aroma.

Body is thin and watery. Lively carbonation.

Buy it for the bottle. It's an easy drinker... If you can get past the skunk!

Pours a pale straw yellow, not much of a foam head on it.
Has that strong skunky Euro Pale Lager smell like others of its kind.
Tastes weaker, and a little more watery than other big name Euro Pale Lagers of its kind.
Drinks smooth though, easy to put down, the worst part of it is the smell.

Overall, not worth the 2 dollar bottle, even if the bottle is neat looking.

I admit it, I bought this one because of the bottle. I bought a few beers tonight that I've been seeing on the shelf for years, but never tried. So far, I see that I was right to avoid these for as long as I did.

It pours an entirely translucent straw color (as there is almost no head, I can read a receipt that the glass is set on, top to bottom). This, plus a slightly skunky odor, made me think it might have been better if drank straight from the green Buddha bottle.

It tastes like a flatter version of Coors Banquet beer--not the most repulsive thing I've tasted. But with it's other lacking qualities, I may be headed to the sink with it unless something "lucky" or "enlightening" happens to me in the next few sips.

Not brewed by Lucky Drink Australia, it's brewed by a brewery in China, distributed by Lucky Drink in Australia, and then distributed into the US through a distributor in CA. Anyway, it doesn't taste awful. It's not as bad as Becks, kinda like heineken, worse than a Grolsch.

Light golden color, sweet watery taste, high carbonation, light mouthfeel. The bottle is what intrigued me, but the taste made me glad I only bought a single bottle. Would not drink again.

A very cool bottle, but wasted on a very below average beer. I fully intended on liking this beer based on the bottle alone, but alas, I could not. It's sort of like a bad Rolling Rock. It smelled skunky. Maybe that's normal, or maybe it's because of the green bottle that lets in too much light. It didn't taste all that skunky, though, so that's a plus! This is just a typical AAL in a superb package, which is why my overall score is a 4.0.

Looks nicely carbonated, lighter. Small head. Awesome bottle.

Smells of a regular macro lager. Sweet notes.

Taste is very basic, of a macro lager but crisp. Mostly of grain. Very basic, but ends smooth.

Mouthfeel is pretty good. Smooth all the way thru.

Overall it is a simple bill, but very drinkable. A step up above typical American macros. If looking for something smooth, non-offensive, this fits the bill.

Free bottle from my local craft shop. Not expecting much but who knows.

Look - Pours crystal clear yellow with a finger of bone white head that leaves quicker than it showed up. Carbonation appears nearly dead. Lacing isn't even a factor.

Smell - This is the most skunked thing I have ever put up to my nose. There is nothing else to mention in this department.

Taste - More skunk. Bit of white bread. Even more skunk.

Feel - Medium bodied with zero carbonation. Swallows like water and thankfully drops the skunk.

Overall - Not much to say. Another generic green bottled euro lager.

The five is for the rad bottle. Best part of this beer. Otherwise just a watery lager. Smells like your typical green bootle Heineken or moose head or what have you but hardly has any flavor. Maybe if wet is a flavor. It is wet.

dat bottle doe....

I could always use a little enlightenment to make up for my poor life choices. So when the opportunity to try this "enlightened beer" came around I didn't want to miss my chance.

First impressions are, great bottle, and I am going to save that one. Once opened, I poured into a cold glass. Basic white froth, aroma light and sweet if any. Light yellow color, straw I guess you could say. Taste is sweet, notes of honey, but finishes pretty poorly. No really malt presences. Mouthfeel is silky, lingering finish.

Over all it is what it is. A Chinese made beer for the masses. Points for bottle creativity, points subtracted for lacking enlightenment.

Picked this up at Joe Canal's in Woodbridge not too long ago, having never had or seen this before. Yes, the bottle was the best attribute of this beer but it didn't taste anywhere near as bad as I thought it would and easily beat out the big-market Macros that this would inevitably end up being lumped in with. Since this was only sold via the single bottle, I didn't buy more than one but I would grab six of these at a time if they were sold that way!

Nice golden pour to this with a thin head that settled down pretty quickly. Not a big aroma to this either there was just some grain and honey to it that wasn't easily discernible. Lots of dough in the taste along with a hint of filler and some grass in the aftertaste, with the feel of blood orange juiciness to keep this light and lively. Good amount of carbonation here and fuller than other European counterparts of this style, with the grain sticking around a bit in the aftertaste. No skunkiness in this bottle, thank God!

A nice amount of alcohol kept this at the session level and it would have been easy to down another bottle of this after giving it the inspection. Can't say that I've seen or had anything like this and even though it was an Australian beer brewed in China, this stood up as well as anything like this from Europe or America. Great for the summer when a simple "lawnmower beer" just won't cut it!

Clear Pale yellow color with plain white head and very light lacing. Skunky smell and an off putting taste. Decent finish but definitely a beer you'd wanna drink very cold but then it's not worth the price

Smooth when cold. Had with sushi. Not bad, but let's face it, the Chinese are not known for beer. I say stick to fireworks and math my Chinese friends.

From bottle, Clear light yellow with a small white head. Aroma is grass, citrus. Taste is watery with notes of citrus and grass. Needs to be very cold.

The bottle is the best part of the beer. It's by no means a drain pour but it's nothing special, lacks any real flavor. Pretty similar to an adjunct lager with that skunky euro flavor.

11.2 oz Buddha bottle, pils glass

A – Medium straw and very clear. A thin white head appears on the pour and disappears quickly. A lot of effervescence.

S – Flour and uncooked bread dough, and grainy-sweet. Maybe some very light herbal hops, a bit of corn/rice-like sweetness. Just not much here.

T – Uncooked bread dough, grainy-sweet with a bit of rice. Hops are very low, but slightly herbal, perhaps with a touch of lemongrass.

M – Moderate-high carbonation and mildly effervescent. A light crisp sweetness, with just a bit of slickness, and a tinge of bitterness on the finish.

O – Let’s be honest: the best thing about this beer is the bottle it came in. However, it is comparable to the better versions of adjunct lagers, not horribly sweet or cloying or slick. Actually a pretty well-made, though watered-down and fairly aroma-less and flavor-less. I would not decline another one (if it was free.)

Fruity, light, and a hint of honey. Very refreshing.

Would drink again. Although at the price point, probably wouldn't outright search it out to purchase again.

From an interesting green, Buddha-shaped bottle, this beer is pale yellow with no real head. The aroma is sulfur and grain. The taste is slightly salty, and sweet. No real malt or hop character. Not appealing at all.

Pale yellowish color in the Belgian goblet. Dissapointing head, but it's plenty spritzy on the tongue. Flavor is corn, soybeans, club soda. Faint flowery aroma is the one nice feature.

This is really no worse than a lot of cheap Euro lagers, even to the wee skunky hop note. I wouldn't drink anything regularly from China though. From the 11.16 oz bottle purchased at Whidbey Beer Works in Oak Harbor, Washington.

Love the look of the bottle. It smells great but the taste left something to be desired. Tastes like overly carbonated water with a splash of beer flavor...but just a splash. Overall, for the cost, not worth it.

Poured into a St. Bernardus goblet JUST BECAUSE.

Look: Crystal clear light golden body with nice rising bubbles. A white head dissipates to a cirrus cloud film. Light lacing.

Aroma: A skunk must have took residence inside this green bottle.

Taste: Thankfully, the skunk did not leave any traces of himself in the taste profile. The beer starts off a bit sweet and malty, some grains and cereal adjuncts for good measure, with a semi-grassy finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium to light in body.

Overall: I am delighted that I did not buy a $10 sixes of this. I bought a single bottle for just over $2. This beer is no better or worse than any other green-bottle skunk bomb on the market.

Bottle says imported from China so not quite sure why this site has listed as an import from Australia. Nonetheless the bottle of the beer is awesome looking pretty much the main reason I bought the beer. It smells like an ordinary lager but tastes a lot better then your typical lagers. Real malty sweetness but balanced perfectly with bitterness. Pours a beautiful gold head dissipates quickly, lots of bubbles very little to no lacing retention on glass. Overall a pleasant little beer with a 4.8 abv would definitely buy again.

Bottle says product of China not Australia. Pours golden yellow. Little to no head. Very crisp and refreshing. Tastes like a euro lager from Germany etc... without general skunkiness. Was such a great beer.

11.16 oz. Funky green bottle poured into a pils glass. Gift from father-in-law

A- clean, golden-straw body with loads of carb. White head quickly drops to a thin film. Decent stick.

S- sweet, like creamed corn. A little grassy and minty. Maybe a little floral.

T- definitely sweet. More of the corn flavor. Faint, grassy hops. Fairly crisp finish.

M- Clean and heavily carbonated (providing a tingle).

O- mostly a novelty beer for the cool bottle. Not the worst, but doesn't stand out. Probably not something I'd purchase again.
