-Color: A hazy golden hue.Very little head on top. Slight carbonation.

-Nose: Grapefruit on the nose which gives me hope that this is going to be like biting in a nice juicey glass of beer. I don’t get the cedar as the brewer promises on the side of the can.

-Flavor: Unfortunately for me it didn’t end up in the grapefruit in a glass I was hoping for. More piney and floral than anything. Overpowers the malt.

-Rating: 2.75/5- It was too floral for me. I like a balanced beverage especially when it comes to an IPA. Wasn’t the freshest tasting either. Do not see me picking up a 6 pack anytime soon. Its pretty middle of the road when it comes to IPAs.

On tap at the brewery, served in a mug

A: See through with no haze, dark orange, 1/2 finger of frothy white head that dissipated fairly quickly. Lots of apparent carbonation, laced the glass a little bit.
S: Pine, grassy, oranges, grapefruit, sweet malts. Pretty sure this has Simcoe hops in it, it has shades of that distinctive Simcoe "catty" aromas
T: Pine, sweet orange, bready malts in the middle mouth and a bittering in the middle mouth, finishes with pine and sweetness in the aftertaste
M: Lots of carbonation, but not too strong of a bite on the tongue, complements the hopping and bitterness well. Drinks just right for an IPA, light-medium mouthfeel and a dry finish made it really easy to drink quickly.
O: Solid take on an IPA, nicely balanced malts and hops with good aromatics and flavor. Enjoyed a lot and would drink again given the chance.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a half finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt and noble hops, a bit more European than North west. Flavor is light caramel malt, grassy hops with a light piney element, starts fairly balanced, but the finish has some astringency that is not supported by the hop flavors. A good, but somewhat unbalanced IPA in a crowded field. Flavor also seems more continental than Northwest in hop choice. I enjoyed this IPA, but nothing stands out to bring me back regularly.

Attractive orangey amber brew with a skimpy head. Not much aroma. Tangy and a little hot in the mouth.

Pleasantly sweet and warm. Fruity taste with the zingy acid note is interesting. Not overly bitter.

Drinkable and less bitter IPA. From the 12 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham.

For a flagship beer, I worry about the ship going down.
