Hop aroma and flavor dominate this IPA. However, the malt character of this deep amber colored ale nicely balances the hop component thus avoiding a harsh bitterness. Pure hoppiness!

Canned IPA from a state I haven't ticked, yes please. Thoughtful extra thrown in by Andrew, unfortunately for SD and my palate, this beer was not good.

Beer was reddish / amber mildly hazy, thin head, no lacing.

Aroma was medicinal, slightly piny, mildly malty.

Beer is pretty bitter, so that's good, the forward is all malt, with this almost vegetal midpalate that damages my ability to drink much of the beer. I'll say this about it, I finished my pour but I split it threeways. I may have been the only one to finish my entire 4 ounces though.

On a side note, I have now reviewed beers from 48 states with this beer as beeradvocate.com counts states, but on a personal note I believe (this needs to be confirmed by me) that I have reviewed IPAs from 37 states.

Clear golden color, small white head. Good retention.

Piney and grapefruit aroma, pine bark and wood more specifically, grapefruit zest and some juiciness, a hint of malt, earthy, lemony, some iced black tea.

Reminds me a lot of Lagunitas IPA. Pine bark, pine wood, pine sap, earthy, pine cone...zesty grapefruit oils, citrus and pine oils coat the tongue. Seriously piney IPA. I love it. This is one of the super nice old school liquid pine cone IPAs. Crisp, dry, biscuity malt. Pretty serious bitterness hits initially, rides for a bit and then subsides to a fairly crisp finish. Mouth is coated with oils a bit. Crushable in spite of its bitterness and intense pine.

If you like old school American IPAs, you're going to love it. I personally am a huge fan. If you're in distro, buy this! Take your taste buds for a whirl.

12oz can into a pint glass.
L: Pours clear medium caramel w some large steady carbo bubbles, a 1+" foamy pock-marked off white head w excellent retention, loose baggy lacing w some ghostly banding.
S: Grains, grassy hops, caramel malts, floral, a hint of orange, a suggestion of hard candy sugar.
T: Lightly sweet malts, a hint of bread, a firm hop bite, bright citrus zest, a hint of toffee, pine, hops are slightly intense but aren't bashy, fairly full flavored, lingering bitterness.
F: Firm, brisk, med to med-light bodied, bright and wet w a moderately long medium dry finish and a long linger.
O: Well balanced, excellent bittering, hop forward, gently sweet, very EZ drinking, good carbo to end. A beautiful American IPA. Would like to try this on tap. It is excellent in its style.

Pours a clear amber color. 3 finger fluffy white head. Head retention is decent. Really nice lacing on the glass.
The nose has a nice, but mellow pine hop to it. There's a hint of pineapple also, but faint.
Taste - Yeah, lots of sticky pine flavor here. This is a very old school IPA flavor here.
Very sticky feeling. The hops coat, and cling to my throat, and just don't let go. Body is decent.
Solid old school IPA, and a good throwback to what IPAs used to be. I like it.

Golden, and lacy once the head recedes. Great look in the glass.

Smells like an IPA.

Bitter and bright. A little hollow. If you like IPA, you'll like this; but it's not pushing any new boundaries, that's for sure.

Thin and smooth mouth feel.

Not bad. Not special.

No canned date

Appearance - Pours crystal clear and brilliant orange in color with an off-white, near two-finger width head. Displays good retention before settling to a thin, consistent layer of surface suds.

Smell - Grassy, slightly piney and floral, and with a hint of bready sweetness riding beneath.

Taste - Follows the nose. Really grassy, with hints of pine and floral character accenting the hop profile. Fair malt presence, with bready sweetness and a faint touch of toffee, especially near the finish. Aftertaste lingers with that grassy bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with fair carbonation. Drinks easy enough before a mostly dry finish.

Overall - Fair to good IPA. I'm not really one for grassiness in IPAs though. I finished the sixer no problem.

L: Ice tea or copper coloring, surprisingly clear (in today's age), with a quickly receding beige head and sparse lacing.

S: More like a malty amber than an IPA, one note. Bitter. Astringent. Unpleasant.

T: Disparate malt bomb and bitter nuke. Turpentiney pine-like bitterness. Horribly strong bitter finish which lasts seemingly forever. I like the very bitter IPAs, but this is a crazy outlier.

F: Okay carbonation and dry finish on a medium body, but bitey and difficult to drink.

O: This just seems to me to be a prime example of what not to do - more bittering hops eventually is not better. This is two different beers fighting to dominate - a malty amber, and a cloyingly bitter IPA.

6/22/19...medium copper, still light, foamy lid. Pine bitter leads. Grassy too. Soft open, sneaky bitter mixed with a toffee malt. Bitter gains steam as the beer goes on. Hearty finish.

Great brew! Just enough hoppiness for my taste with a smooth finish. I always pick up a 6er or two when I make it to S.D.

12oz undated can poured into a wheat beer glass at fridge temp 6.5% ABV. The beer pours bright golden light amber with persistent light khaki head. The head recedes to an 1/8" cap and leaves a little lacing. The aroma is evergreen. The taste is caramel and evergreen with mild bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to thin bodied, adequately carbonated, dry and a little chalky. Overall, ok.
