Pours a gold colour with light bubbling, minimal head with the appearance of spit, nice thick lacing but otherwise flat and dull.

Light malt notes on the nose with some dull woodiness. Soil character, but I guess it's just a light Pride of Ringworm aroma. Lightly bitter is all I can say. Not inoffensive though.

Taste is a bit malty at first, descends into a bready mid-palate with hints of actual grain on there, a slight bit of POR gritty bitterness at the back, but not enough to render it undrinkable. Not too bad for a light lager though, have to give it its due, even though it's dull and mostly flavourless.

Feel is a bit thin, but has a little bit of body as it goes down. Not bad for a light lager.

A beer that's flavourless enough to be inoffensive. Perfect complement to most raw tofu dishes and water soup.

Look:

Heavy pour out of the bottle into a tumbler, same as my Hahn Premium Light review.
Similar golden straw appearance. Standard Aussie lager look. Nothing too fancy to write home amout. It's an adjunct lager, you had one you've had them all.
Head is thin, wispy, and disappeared quickly. Doesn't stick around like sea foam.

Smell:

Identical to all Australian adjunct lager beers. Malty, grainy, lemony citrus smell going on. Although the lemony citrus smell almost smells fake, like a urinal cake. It's Pride of Ringwood hops. It's Aussie adjunct beer.

Taste:

Grassy and grainy. Hop notes not as prominent in the mouth as on the nose, or as prominent in the mouth has Hahn Premium Light. Quite bland, for a light beer.

Feel:

Highly carbonated. It's like a soft drink/soda but with a beerytaste. Quite watery but to be expected.

Overall, it's an Aussie light beer. It's not going to blow you away, but it'll quench your thirst on a hot day if it's cold and the water isn't. Not as good as Hahn Premium Light

Clear deep golden color with medium frothy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of grainy malt, grass and notes of citrus. Taste starts with moderate sweet malt, but still bland, following is fresh grainy and grassy, mouthfeel is crisp and dry, while finish is very light bitter.

Call it blatant box ticking but one of the styles I have yet to review on BeerAdvocate is Light Lager - Cascade, I’m looking at you. Actually if I were sucked into some alternate universe where the only beers available were Light Lagers Cascade Premium Light wouldn’t be looking too bad at all. I mean I have had it before (at a party - I had exhausted my own supply of Coopers Best Extra Stout and a friend offered me a Cascade Premium Light) I recall it being a very grainy Aussie beer, with water added, and disappointing - but hey it’s hard to please a person with a Light beer after they’ve polished off a sixer of Old Uncle Coopers Best Extra.

Poured from a 375ml bottle into an Aussie pub schooner glass (the one I didn’t “borrow” from the local pub).

A: This part is where I would normally rant on about how every Aussie macro Lager looks the same and there’s no telling them apart with their clear golden bodies and pissy white heads that fizzle out to nothing, but instead I’m just going to hum the theme to the A-Team - da-dada-da da-da-da (etc...). 4/10.

S: The smell of many RSL bar floors bring back memories of me ordering a crappy bourbon and coke instead - grainy malts, corn, vegetal matter (Pride of Ringworm hops) and crisp Tasmanian spring water (if you believe the marketing). It’s really difficult to get excited about drinking this. 4/10.

T: Annnnd - it tastes like a glass of soda water - big surprise. It’s really difficult to identify anything beer related in the profile, but I’m sure if I could it would taste as I’ve described the aromas above; grainy, corny, adjuncty and vegetaly. Kind of glad it does taste like soda water now. 4/10.

M: The worst point of this and every Australian macro Lager - high carbonation, watery and light body. 3/10.

D: Well you could drink a hundred of these and not get drunk, but then you’ll end up puking before you near the end of a case, so what’s the point? The point is we drink light beers so we can be socially responsible and drive our friends home whilst remaining under the legal limit Doc. Screw that, just drink nicer full-strength beers slower and enjoy yourself within the bounds of MODERATION rather than have a shitty time with this soda water-flavoured beer. All that said - this is still one of the best Australian Light Lagers - which is not unlike the ‘best prison shanking’ i.e. the best of a bad lot. 4/10.

Food match: Does it really matter what you have with this beer? No.

Appearance: Bright golden body with a nice and solid head. Settled down slowly, and left a thin but attractive lacing down the glass.

Aroma: A waft of malt sweetness, and hints of generic hops. A little bit of 'tonic water smell' as well.

Taste: Slightly more malty and smooth than most macro lagers, although still left wanting. Some slight grain character, with low bitterness, and noticeable hops.

Mouthfeel: High carbonation, and with a bit fuller body than expected from a light beer.

Drinkability: Definitely one of the better macro light beers, and was much more complex than I was expecting. Let down by typical macro faults, however.

A: Served a nice golden color with a small head that fades to nice lacing.

S: Aroma is very mild with bit of malt sweetness and just a hint of hops.

T: Taste is pretty mild, just a bit of malt sweetness and just a trace of grain. There is a light bitterness and a clean finish.

F: Light body, crisp and quite smooth.

O: Not a lot here, decent beer for the style, if light lager is your thing.
