A - Nice red/amber body with very thin head.

S - Fruity and touch of sweetness.

T - Subtly complex with a good balance of sharp citrus and smooth sweetness.

M - Very nice level of carbonation for a non-bottle conditioned beer. Rounded.

D - Right strength for a "session" type beer and would be quite happy to stick with this for an evening.

Served in a Riedel glass at 51F.

A: Pours a semi-clear golden copper liquid with a light, sparkly head which goes flat too soon. Looks like a decent bitter.

S: English hops like EKG, resin and faint orange. Grapes, slight toffee caramel and light syrup. Got some biscuit malt in the background too....some rye bread as well.

T: More resin and hop bitterness, some bitter orange. A bit too sweet for my taste. This beer feels like a 'standard pub ale', very anonymous and boring. It's ok, but it's not really a 'unique' and interesting beer.

M/D: Crisp and light, adequate CO2. Goes down easily, but leaves no taste on the tongue nor the palate. Boring finish.

The beer pours pale golden with large foamy head (after aggressive pour), but is soon reduced to some patches at the top. Aroma is rather pleasant sweet herbal malt.

Taste is nice hoppy bitterness (with some piney notes) with sweetish finish and mild notes of hops in the lingering aftertaste. Mouthfeel is light with prickly carbonation.

The beer seemed to be quite drinkable, but nothing too special.

This beer comes in a dark brown 50 cl semi-long-neck, there are small witches (Wychwood-witches) in relief just below the neck. The label's got a scarecrow "guarding" a field of hops, with an owl on his shoulder.

A: The beer pours cloudy redish golden with a beige creamy head. The dissipation is slow and leaves rich, spiderweb-like, lacings.

S: Rich bitter hops together with light roasted malt - a buttery smell is present. Some dark dried fruits and faint chocolate is also in it.

T: Caramell malts together with bitter hops and faint citric notes. The butter is here as well. The taste reminds of the smell, but way fainter.

M: The aftertaste is rather long and bitter. The body is dry creamy mediumfull and the carbonation is moderate.

D: Not the easiest beer to drink, but the hops are pretty nice.

This beer pours a pale see thru amber colour with average carbonation that leaves a fast vanishing head,it has aromas of corn and some malty hops,it has a very thin mouthfeel for the style with a very subtle fruity hop finish not impressed by this beer and would avoid it like the plague.

Serving date: 2009-03-08. Served in pint glass. Best before 2009-09-17.

A: Very hazy. Apricot colored, Rather big, off-white head, medium head retention. Some lacings. Looks quite good.

S: Mostly sweet malts, some semi-tart fruits (blackberries, some grapefruit), faint notes of tobacco. Noticeable fudge. Pleasant smell.

T: Plenty of caramel malts. Some minerals. Vague sweet fruit flavors (gooseberries, clementine, lemon peel). White bread. There's basically no bitterness in this brew. The finish is very short, and uninteresting (restrained malts and some floral hop aromas). The taste is a big disappointment compared to the smell.

M: Plenty of carbonation and too sharp bubbles. Moderate body. Feels pointless in the mouth.

This beer is on a steady downhill slope from a very good looks and a pleasant, to a decent taste, boring finish and very dull mouthfeel. This is ok, barely.

comming from wychwood, I was thinking that it would be better. deffinently their worst beer. smelled of week hops, tasted like a watered down beer, that a cheap bar was trying to squeez pennies out of. this was my first organic beer, and the way this tasted probably my last....props on the lable though excelent art work like on all their bottles. don't let this brew make you not want to drink their others which are very tasty.

An organic pale ale. This poured amber, although the head failed quickly and left very little lacing on the glass. There was a very faint smell in general from this, touches of grass and hops but otherwise very little to get my nostrils going, almost the same with the taste, yes it was nice, but in a rather bland "at least it is better than most mass produced stuff" sense. In the mouth the overarching feel is of softness with just a touch of bitterness and yes I can imagine it being refreshing, but by the time I got two thirds of the way down it was thin and lacking in flavour, it has no staying power. The best thing about this beer was the label.

A copper coloured beer which has very little head. There is a sweet raisiny nose with a citric tang which reminds me of red grape juice.

My initial impression of the taste is that there isn't much of anything going on here. In fact there seems to be a rather understated biscuity maltiness followed by a low intensity but persistent herbal hoppiness. It is much less sweet than the nose suggests.

This is perfectly passable and would make a reasonable session beer, but there is no great attraction for me. It is the weakest of the six offerings I have sampled from this brewer.

Poured this brown 500mL bottle into a British pint glass. Dated best by: 30 Jan 09. My sister brought this in a gift pack from the UK. (Wow, I' the first from the US to review this one!). The body was golden and clear of sediment. Bright. Three fingers of lumpy head stayed a long while.

Smell was malty. Grains up front then the mild hops. Hard candy smell. Syrupy.

Taste was lightly spicy and grainy. Moderate bitterness, no harshness. Drying with a quick finish. Very drinkable. The bottle says this one is made with organic ingredients.

Mouthfeel was smooth with a thin/medium body.

a) Hazy, orange, with rocky white head.
s) Lemonade, slight sweet candy note
f,m) Toasty English malts, jammy/marmalade fruity sweetness, yet dry finish. Mild bitterness, fresh flavours, but nothing outstanding.
d) A good session beer, but not worth the $9AU I paid for it.

Poured from a 500ml bottle this looked all the world like a great beer,
Hazy orange with easily discernable carbonationand a finely frothed head.
Thee is an undertone of sourness throughout this beer, which may be a bitterness aberrartion maybe some yeast or possibly the citrus that lingers.
For me it took over the beer so that any malt or hoppy fruit struggled to come through.
Not that it is unpleasant just not great

From a 500 ml bottle, this brew pours a rich honey-amber color with a nice thin, but stable, head. The beer has a pleasant hop aroma, with a notable citrus character. There's a bit of hops, and a little fruit (apple, pear), but they're behind a lemon and orange hop smell. The taste is light and a bit acidic. There's less malt than I expected, but there's a bit of a sugary sensation in the foretaste. A little roastedness is present as well. The finish has a nice bitter hop finish, along with a toast flavor. This is a solid and enjoyable brew. It's not extraordinary, but it is nice on a long hot afternoon.

Brown 500ml bottle, best before Feb 2008, drank March 2007.

Poured into my Budweiser Budvar 0.2 litre tasting glass.

Bright amber, lively and clear, wispy white head.

Aroma of hops and barley.

Good hoppy flavours, a hint of citrus sourness, but not much, a pleasant more than a great taste.

Aftertaste has the citrus flavours more than the hop flavour in the taste.

Overall a drink worth trying.

Coming in a 500ml brown bottle, BB 30 OCT 07, served cool in a straight imperial pint glass.

A: bright, dark reddish-orange hue, coming with a puffy off-white froth that sustains surprisingly well, on top of abundant tiny fizziness at play.
S: the malt-hop mix upfront reminds me of Young's London Special Ale, coming with rich and juicy candyish malts, fragrant fruitiness of marmalade and peaches, backed by a slightly dusty note and a mildly acidic edge of lemon that sustains behind the fragrant hoppyness.
T: an assertive wave of juicy biscuity malts and its bitter-sweet flavour prevails upfront, followed by mildly tangy citrus peels, a trace of caramelised sugar, (interestingly) crushed almonds or similar nuts, and quietly manifesting tangy bitterness of hops (as specified by the label, whole Target hops are used in this brew, but it smacks of Styrian Goldings as well); rather short finish, but not unpleasant as a mildly lemony kick goes hand in hand with a lingering biscuity aftertaste of malts.
M&D: this bottled beer is apparently better than most of its sister products made by Wychwood; a balance is reached, the carbonation is not over-done, and the overall flavour is mild but quite enticing with a subtle and lingering malty theme--not bad drinkability as a result~~

Deep orange color. Quite carbonated in appearance. A not too compact foam, quite abundant.
In the smell a resolute orange, citrus, quite pleasant. Even orange marmalade.
He taste is malty and citric, pleasant and thirst-quenching. After all, balanced.
In the aftertaste the bitterness of bitter orange, and hop.
Very orange.

Found in a Moscow grocery store, this brown half liter bottle is widest at the shoulders, then tapers down to the foot. The multi-colored label features a scarecrow planted in a patch of hops, with an owl on one arm and a fox below the other. The Russian import label lists on purity law ingredients. Best before 12/13/06, I opened it on 4/23/06 - Happy Orthodox Easter.

Pours a clear, slightly lighter than standard gold under a 1/2 finger white head that fades very quickly, leaving no trace. The nose is sweet and fruity (grape and plum), easily discernible yet humble, and quite pleasant. The mouth is very prickly and quite light. The taste features a very good mix of sweet fruit, barley malt and dry floral bitter. Some harsher espresso-like bitter kicks in at the finish, leaving a lip-smacking aftertaste that inspires further sips. Very good indeed.

500 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. Golden colour, fluffy head diminishing rapidly. Moderate but pleasant hoppy aroma with citrussy elements and some toffee. Flavour is rather lager-like, with a grapefruity bitterness with some metallic notes in the finish. I started drinking it far too cold, improves a bit as it warms up, but not much. Reasonably refreshing, but no masterpiece.

Appearance: golden-light brown, great clarity, medium layer of creamy off-white foam, lace

Aroma: somewhate clean "lagery" scent, floral hops, light maltiness, touch of angel foodcake, chamomile

Flavor: initial delicate malt sweetness, lightly fruity, hint of citrus, luscious herbal hop flavor, finishes dry with a smooth hop bitterness and honeyish aftertaste

Mouthfeel: medium-light body, fine carbonation, soft texture

Other comments: This is either a great beer or I was just really in the mood for something light and refreshing. Very delicate and drinkable. I would absolutely LOVE to taste this from a fresh cask.

Also important to note, the sample I tried was quite fresh and was bottled in a BROWN bottle. Wychwood seems to have learned their lesson because I haven't seen a clear bottle of these in a long time (in the UK anyway).

This beer is brewed on ecological ingredients.

The colour is dark gold; the finger thick white foam is made of relatively big bubbles.

The smell is pretty mild with some hints of bitter hops and fruity malt. There is also a somewhat burned flavour.

The carbonation is just right for pale ale and the bubbles are quite small.

The taste starts with a dry bitterness and a growing sweet note. The body is quite weak and a little sour. The bitterness is quite simple and a bit metallic, with some flavours of bitter herbs (sage? wormwood?). The aftertaste is dry and unbalanced with a touch of acid drops.

A bitter experience that wasn’t balanced with enough of malt.

Slightly cloudly vibrant orange in colour with a weak head and very low carbonation.

Nose is a mixture of sweet malt and green/herbal hops that is decent by nothing out of this world.

Odd palate that is flat and flabby even a little cloying. Flavours of sweet roasted honey malt and again some of that herbal greeness comes through.

An average brew, certainly not worth the $$'s it commands out here.

This is a strange one. Bittersweet, sticky/syruppy, and one dimensionally so, very, boring and theres no way i could get through the whole bottle, stupid label and stupid glass bottle. Very stinky aswell, could have been skunked, overall?.......very stupid.
