Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a light golden amber color with a one finger head of fizzy white foam. The head fades rather quickly, leaving a trace of lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the brew is strong of a grainy and bready smell mixed with a little bit of a yeasty and citrus orange smell. Along with these aromas comes a little bit of a apple and pear smell as well as a hint of grass.

Taste – The taste begins with a mix of a sweeter fruity and caramel nature with some flavors of a more bready taste. The fruity flavors are mostly of a orange flavor, but contain other fruit flavors of peach and apricot as well. As the taste advances more grain comes to the tongue with the bready flavors dwindling ever so slightly. At the same time some grassy and herbal hop flavors come to the tongue along with a light yeasty taste. In the end, with the transitions that occur, one is left with a rather smooth, sweet and flavorful, but mild taste to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer on the slightly thinner side for a brew of 7 % abv with a carbonation level that is rather average. For the style the feel could have used a bit more body, but overall, the feel was alright.

Overall – A rather easy drinking grand cru with an easy drinking style that hides the abv. of 7 % rather well. For the rather modest price for a 6 pack of only ~ $6-7 this is a great flavorful and more robust but affordable and drinkable brew.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Reviewed live.

A- Flimsy little white head, no retention, no lacing. Golden color, crystal clarity. Not off to a great start.

S- Very perfume-y. Apricot, some liqueurs, apples and other light fruit. Kind of weird. Light, semi-alcoholic and tart smelling.

T- Sugary apricot flavor. Light and very perfume-y again. Really a weird Belgian pale ale. Not bad at all though.

M- sugary and alcoholic feel.

O- Weird beer, not like other Belgian strong ales I have had. Not bad, not exemplary.

Bottle poured into a wine snifter.
Interesting how it poured a very anemic head in spite of my aggressive pour into the bottom of the glass. Cloudy pale in appearance with no head after 5 seconds.
Nice taste for the price. Not a top end taste but not a top end price either. A very good trade-off in my opinion worthy of the style.
A decent Belgian but at 7 avb not particularly strong however.

From notes.
Poured from a small capped bottle into a tulip.

Now I had this one one day after having their nice amber ale; the amber was well balanced and pleasant, unexpectedly, and then I expected this one to blow my socks off, and ended in the drain.
Hazy golden, short head with very poor retention; it certainly does not even look close to a belgian style.
The fruity aroma is somehow unpleasant, at times feeling like overripe fruits. I even wondered about the quality of the bottle, but a second one proved identical.
Medium to light bodied, too much alcohol flavor, sweet fruits poorly integrated with a tart note.
Very odd, unpleasant really.

With coriander listed, this seems more like a Witbier, but less wheaty.
Guess a "Grand Cru" can be anything really.

Murky orange when the yeast is poured in, a finger of foam. Odd fruity smell, bread dough and apricots.
A trace of citrus can also be discerned.

Tart fruit and earthy coriander, cookie dough, woody tree bark. Watery with a dry finish. This actually goes down pretty easily. Fairly juicy with some traces of wheat in the aftertaste. Not bad, not the greatest, but above average.

I grabbed this on my Yellowstone run and was just blown away with how good this beer is!

It pours a slightly cloudy medium-amber with a pant-load of head. The aroma is very fruity with some citrus and flower. The taste is a high-medium intensity of citrus and flowers with maybe a bit of honey that I found to be extraordinary, just fantastic! It is super easy to drink and finishes with a very sweet aftertaste, just liquid gold! I am so sad that I only pick up one bottle. I don't see them distributing in Iowa any time soon.

It's available at stores inside Yellowstone Park by the bottle or six-pack.

Poured from a bottle into a tulip. It pours a cloudy yellow color. A 1/8 inch white head forms and leaves a nice lacing. Carbonation is readily visible.

The aroma was pleasant although not complex with some grassy notes combined with an orange-like sweetness. Coriander is definiteyl present.

The taste was okay with what seemed to be a cucumber flavor. Some bready, spice, and clove notes as well. Not real forceful though.

The mouthfeel is light bodied. There is a quick carbonation that leaves the mouth feeling a bit dry.

This is an okay beer with components that are good but need to be highlighted more. Worth a trial if you like belgian strong pale ales.
