My Offero glass holds before me a Black (SRM 40+) beer with a modest, creamy, chestnut head that shies away to a trace, leaving only a fine lace on the glass.

This is going to be sweet, with a fruity malt, backed-up by coffee and some roast. Lots of plumb pudding, and bittersweet chocolate, with hints of cinnamon. The aroma is very complex.

Surprisingly more bitter than sweet on entry, with neither to any extreme. The fruit flavors are a bit muddy, and supported by dark wheat bread. Molasses plays off the roasted malt. The finish is strong, but short, accenting the bitterness of coffee.

Super smooth, with a medium body and creamy texture. Fine explosive carbonation cuts the alcohol.

Another good stout, this one is more interesting than the typical stout offerings on the shelves. Verdi warms well, making for a good sipping beer to pair with a good rib-eye.

Pours as dark as obsidian. Even when the pint glass is held up against direct sunlight, you can't see through it. Huge head, even when carefully poured. Good lacing.

A pleasant roasty nose, and a very deep whiff yields just a hint of the chilli.

Served at the recommended 58 degrees, taste is full, deep, and rich. The chilli, not so evident at first. As the glass warms slightly, the flavor of the chilli comes out, but it's subtle: a warm sensation gliding on the throat.

Mouthfeel is surprisingly light.

An excellent Italian stout. Highly recommended. I'll be grabbing more of these.

Poured a black body with one finger tan head. Has mostly a roasted and chocolate malt aroma. Smooth, light, even creamy, mostly a chocolate sweetness in the flavor profile with slightly dry but mostly easy finish. Personally, I didn't really smell or taste the peppers and perhaps that at least states that this beer is not overpowered (or overheated) by the peppers. A simplistic and easy going stout that hides the alcohol well and is worth trying.

The poured a dark brown almost black with a thick tan head. There were definite notes of roasted malts, dark chocolate and a hint of coffee. The taste reveals a lot of the same with the addition of a chili spice. The spice wasn't overpowering and had a good balance of roasted malt, sweetness and alcohol burn. The mouthfeel was in the medium range with the right amount of carbonation to even out all the flavours. Quite enjoyed this beer.

Bought a 375 ml bottle at Jester King brewery. My beer was infected. The sour flavor overwhelmed everything else. Really didn't get much chile flavor either. What a dissapoint ment.

bottle purchased at Brass Rail Deli, enjoyed chilled in a stout glass.

The color is balck with medium tan head and voluminous 2+ fingers depth with varied bead size and lace stickage that is good wiht decent retention. The smell is estery with light roast and slight spice odor with dark sugar aroma. The feel is very good with dark toasted texture and mild sweetness with light spice in the mostly dry finish

The taste has a good malt profile with nutty roast and sweet balance with gentle but noticeable warmth in the back end with finsih that is semi-dry with good carbonation allowing for the impression of a lighter ale with low alcohol in the taste the chili flavor is present with dark sugar and dry graininess with mild sweet cocoa and coffee aspect returning in the finish. Overall excellent flaovr of dark malt with nice sweetness balanced by the chili...I would buy this again even at the premium price.
