Bottle picked up back east. Lots of aroma, flowery, buttery, savory herbs. Taste is more subdued, flowers, abrupt finish. Light body, medium airy head.

Italy definitely has a unique approach to brewing and flavor combinations; very culinary and almost always interesting, unique. This is no exception. Beautiful hazy yellow pour with an abundant creamy head that lingers. The nose has a bisquity backdrop, a rich mix of grains, on top of which a musty but piquant spice hovers ... I wouldn't have called out ginger or green pepper without knowing, but they make sense when I think about the overall impression. Body is light but creamy. A truly delicious beer.

awesome beer, apparently brewed with green peppercorns and ginger and coriander and maybe some other interesting things. none of that really comes out too heavy in the beer, which is what i like best about it. its a saison in the truest sense, nice wheaty base and a real summery vibe to it, but its not as funky as i though, especially coming from these guys. i know they do they lambic blended one with 3f, and thats awesome too, i had them back to back, but i did expect at least some more bretty weirdness. the brett in it seems quite mild, and it grows on me as i sip on it. the ginger is there a little bit up front, but other than that all the extra stuff is subtle, until the coriander really turns on in the finish. expert carbonation and lots of fluffy textured body from all the wheat, a really uncommon feature, it feels almost thick, even with all the bubbles. especially well balanced and accented at various times through the drink, pleasing in its own right, and not totally in need of the lambic, but i have to say i prefer the beersel edition, one of the most compelling beers ive had this year, although this simpler version should not be overlooked. very very special, one of the best examples of the style from an italian brewer i have encountered.
