Poured into a tulip, produced no head to speak of.

It's got a nose of sour cherries and incontinence (yes, it really does smell like a day-old pee-soaked adult diaper).

The taste is strongly sour and funky, with notes of sour cherry, but mostly just sour pee.

It looks alright, but this was a drainpour. I like a good lambic and a good sour, but this was way beyond anything I've ever tried before. Worst beer I've ever tried.

Birrificio del Ducato La Luna Rosa, American Wild Ale on draft at Duckworth's, Park Road, Charlotte NC.

Pours with little to no head and a splendid purple color, almost a black cherry appearance. The nose is vinegar, dark fruit and bready yeast. The taste is incredible - loads of balsamic and tart vinegar,  especially in the finish. Thin but oily mouthfeel with a sticky finish. If you like sours I highly suggest you seek this nearly perfect beer out. Quite dangerous at 8%.

I keep trying sour beers, i am not a fan but for the category this one is a nice change of pace.

330ml, increasingly familiar squat sloped bottle. 'Cuvee 2009'. There's a red moon on the rise...

This beer pours a murky, storm cloud, muddled dark golden brown melange, with nothing in the way of head beyond a few soda pop bubbles whose existence is less than fleeting. It smells of sour, acidic fruit, mostly cherry and apple, some woodiness, and a slight barnyard funk. The taste is more tart cherry fruitiness, with some lemon and general acetic acid sourness piling on, some sweet barrel notes; a brave bready malt pokes up its head, worried yet about getting it plain shot off, some mild, almost soothing yeasty funk, and earthy, somewhat leafy hops, their drying effort lost in the void, along with the purported 8 points of booze. The carbonation is still a non-starter, the body a surprising medium weight from that damped down malt, and actually pretty smooth, as the vinegar notes abate. It finishes in a harsh realm of the off-dry: the battered malt kneeling in front of the resurgent funky tart. (Try to work a 'that's what she said' into that mess)

Like the other offerings from this Parmesan brewer, the American leanings are strong, and I do like that this funky, sour, hippie-inoculation experiment, in the end, shows some non-Low Countries balance. And wow, where did that hefty ABV get to?

Interesting aroma, light funk and fruit, chestnut. Pours medium brown coloured body with absolutely not head. Bottled in 2009, bought through private Quebec order. Very light cherry taste, a little fruit sugar,a little sour edge nothing too sour. otherwise very balanced and nice.

Cloudy, suspended sediment body, brown-amber gradient body.

Nose is serious, serious funk. Like, it's a commitment to enjoy this smell. It's... not particularly pleasant.

Taste has a powerful tartness, citrusy, traces of cherry.

Mouthfeel is relatively thinner, not heavily carbonated.

Good but I wouldn't necessarily seek it out. It's quite funky.

Pours no head; some light bubbles on the top from a vigorous pour. Brew is a reddish, dark brown, and murky.

Vinegar, funk, and cherries carry the aroma, in that order of strength. A little vanilla and oak as it warms. A musky, sweet aroma comes out as it warms, as well, not unlike wet dog.

Very tart and sour, with a lot of fruit carrying the back-end, vinegar up forward, and oak in the middle. Funky notes throughout. Cherry pits and grass.

An absolutely flat beer; no carbonation. This seems to be normal. It also makes it feel wrong in your mouth. It's not silky smooth like a cask beer; it feels dead.

Great aroma, and an interesting flavor profile. Definitely a big-time sour. I personally do not like the flat mouthfeel, but if you can bear with it a few sips, you'll adjust, and the flavor is worth it.

Pours reddish brown with a quickly fading head.
Nose shows loads of funk, cherry, woody oak and rose notes.
Similar flavours; cherry, coconut, oak, bready malt, soft booze.

This was a very, very tart wild ale that I was excited to try. It pours a murky red color with little to no head. Smells a bit like a black cherry warhead. Lots of acidity in the nose. Sure enough, its mouth puckering. The flavor is a really nice combination of cherries and maybe raspberries, with a huge sour kick on the finish. Unfortunately, this beer is flat. I saw that this was an issue with most of the reviews, but was hoping the draft version might be force carbed. It was not, and the beer was begging for a tiny bit of spritzy carbonation. The lack of carb was certainly disappointing, but I still enjoyed the beer. This one flaw kept this beer from being a top tier sour though, and I probably wouldn't spend the money on it again.

This was gross. 2011 cuvée. Bottle 1372/2000. Wanted to try something different at the store. My first real sour beer and I am not impressed. People drink this by choice? Ugh.
