Pours medium yellow with a foamy white head. Some spotty lace.

Some sucrose and light malt in the nose, some vegetal notes.

Ingredients include "corn gritz." No shit.Light grassy sweet malt and corn make up the most of this. Light bitterness and some slight mineral notes. Sweetness of the malt clings a bit at the end. The malt is not unpleasant, just not great. The bitterness fits well, but I wish this finished a bit cleaner. I thought I'd hate this, but the more I drink, the more I'm ok.

Lighter bodied, Some good carbonation. A bit mouth coating, which makes this a bit cloying.

Overall, not horrible. Some high points mixed with the low.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light straw yellow color, with a short white head that fades very quickly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains very light malts, adjuncts and a faint touch of hops.

T: The taste starts with a light malt sweetness followed by bready flavors of grain and adjuncts. The hops presence is very mild but brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, light body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

D: A bit flavorful considering the style, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, it’s about what I’ve come to expect from beers in this style coming from smaller countries, not something I would want to drink too often.

This bottle was received as a gift. Reviewed from notes. Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass.

A: Clear, straw-colored with a good amount of visible carbonation and 1 1/2 finger's worth of fluffy white head.

S: Pilsner malt, some grainy corn, hints of fruity yeast esters. Overall a low amount of aroma aside from the pilsner malts with noticeable sulfurous undertones.

T: Pilsner malt, light yeastiness, corn sweetness through the swallow and aftertaste.. This really isn't very good.

M: Light body, less carbonation sensation than it appeared, and low alcohol presence.

O: This is not a particularly awful beer, but the lack of identifiable flavors and complexity just lead to drinking it as quickly as I can and moving on. I would suggest you move on as well.

A typical European Pale lager, quite indistinguishable from many others I have had. Lacks flavor and body. Honestly I bought it only because it's from the Cape Verde Islands, and I have a bucket list goal to have a beer from at least 100 countries. Other then that there is no reason to buy this brew.
