A 500ml bottle, batch no. 1095 with a best before date of July 2018. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: Dark dark brown in colour with a one finger mocha head that dissipates quickly and leaves only sparse lacing.
Aroma: Coffee, chocolate and dark roasted malts with only subtle hints of orange peel.
Taste: Strong bitter coffee, milk chocolate, roasted malts and a light herbal element with only hints of candied orange peel in the background.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall: Nice and easy drinking Porter with good strong coffee flavours. The orange was perhaps a little light such that I probably would have missed it if it wasn’t written on the label. Still pretty good though.

From a 500ml bottle served at 15 degrees Celsius into a snifter. The bottle has been cellared for more than six months.
Appearance: The beer pours an opaque, very dark brown with two fingers of dense, mocha head that disappears within two minutes. Decent retention for the style. Overall it's a pretty good looking beer.
Aroma: The nose is intense and full of coffee. It is well-balanced between sweet and sharp. The dark malts dominate with strong notes of coffee and tobacco as well as faint notes of dark chocolate and black licorice. Some herbal and earthy hops along with orange zest are present.
Taste: Same as the nose however balancing towards bitter. There's a burnt/charred character that I really like. The beer finishes with a lengthy coffee bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with low carbonation. It's slightly warming and astringent. I know this is not a stout, but I find it a little thin (could be the aging of course). The mouthfeel seems to be this brew's weakest link for me.
Overall: A good beer that delivers on its promise as a coffee orange porter. I'd buy it again if a casual opportunity presented itself.

From Tercer tiempo cervezas. In Teku glass. Playing Technobabylon. This mix of flavors between orange zest and coffee (both easily noticeable) feels sometimes nice, sometimes tiresome, then nice again, then tiresome... I have to try more of this kind to be sure if i like it

500ml bottle from the lcbo for around $6. Rich and delicious. I dont really taste the 'hint of orange' though. The coffee and chocolate flavours are fantastic.
