On-draught @ Hair of the Dog Bangkok for 320 baht (highway robbery by Thai standards, but then their demo is American expats).

Honey Imperial Stout. 10% ABV.

Opaque black body with a soft creamy cap that disappears within 4 minutes.

Aroma is redolent of cream, chocolate, honey, and dark malt/chocolate malt sweetness. Aromatic intensity is mild for an imperial stout. Not boozy.

Taste follows the aroma, albeit with more bitterness than one would anticipate in a honey imperial stout. The usual dark and chocolate malt backbone is present, but survives an attack by unwelcome flavour from the fennel family.

Balanced enough, though it's relatively simple for an imperial stout. I do like the chocolate and cream flavours, but it needs more intricacy, and that the bitterness doesn't come from.roasted barley is criminal.

Mouthful is creamy, smooth, wet, medium-bodied, well-carbonated, and somewhat soft. Complements the taste nicely.

It's a nice imperial stout from Amager, but in a style filled with many a complex yet balanced beast of a brew, this middling effort leaves a lot to be desired. Still, it's drinkable for a 10% brew.

Of course, pitch black. A beige-brown head at one finger high that leaves a lot lacing on the Spigelau Stout Glass.

Nose: Vanilla, milk chocolate, chocolate, coffee, honey, caramel malt, herbs and spices.
Taste: Chocolate, coffee, chili, hops, honey, brown sugar, cacao, milk chocolate and some licorice.
Mouth: Low carbonation. Smooth and silky. Spicy.

From TercerTiempo. In Teku glass. Reading JHTP11 Ch24. Dangerously tasty and drinkable. The honey isnt cloyint at all but makes you drink it pretty quick and goes up to head. Not much torrefact notes but a tasty sweet yet balanced profile
