Poured a black body with minimal tan head and lace ring. Aroma is basically a smoky, meaty aroma with little else (touch of cocoa and licorice). Taste-wise the licorice is muted as is the sweetness and it feels like basically this beer is thick, meaty/smoky and finishes dry.

From the bottle in a snifter. This unique brew pours a lightly oily
blackish brown with a modest head of kahki foam that sizzles to a thin
ring with faint lacing. Nose of dark cocoa and brewers licorice with
layers of char and smoke. Flavors follow with char, smoke, licorice,
smoke, char, dark bakers cocoa, and more char. Mouth feel is full,
lightly chalky, coating, and with faint carbonation that finishes dry.
Overall.....3 things missing here...balance, balance, and balance.

L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a deep, dark brown color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, tan-colored head that lasted an average amount of time. So-so lacing.
S: A good, but not great, aroma of roasted malt, licorice, chocolate, dark fruit, char, and coffee.
T: Tasted of a small amount of chocolate (needed more, of course), a whole lot of roasted malt (present throughout), light coffee notes, a good shot of licorice, a lot of char, and a little dark fruit (raisins). An interesting, but slightly uneven, flavor. There are times when the char overpowers everything else, but in general, it's not a bad taste.
F: A decent amount of carbonation with a smooth, very dry finish. Medium-bodied.
O: Definitely an uneven beer, but still kind of interesting. Worth a look.

Pour is an opaque black / brown color with a ¾” mocha-brown foam, active micro bubbles, solid retention, nose of roasted malts, cocoa, coffee, semi earthy hops, subtle smoke, caramel, hint of toffee, dried figs, taste is similar to a liqueur; dried fruit mixed with bitter dark malts, burnt coffee, grassy hops, spice of licorice is (very mild Anise), mouthfeel is creamy, full bodied, medium cola carbonation, with a dry finish. Lingering smoked malts and muted dark fruit – cherry start to become apparent as the beer warms. Overall, a very robust flavor, with a mild black licorice note, very approachable, and very roasty.

I don't see a bottle date listed.
Appearance: It has a black body and a very short off-white/light-tan head which fades quickly and does not arouse easily in the glass. While there isn't much retention the beer leaves a nice mark of lacing on the glass.
Aroma: It smells of chocolate and coffee. The strongest aroma here is closest to that of cacao.
Taste: Up front there is a light bitterness which tastes a bit like toasted caramel. There is a bit of a glazed sugar carbon flavor. After this there is a burnt wood flavor mixed with a touch of brown sugar and peppermint.
Mouthfeel: It feels light on the palate but full in the mouth with respects to how it coats. It feels a bit empty towards the back-end of the palate and it finishes with a carbonic bitterness.
Overall: It is a pretty good porter with some interesting flavors and aromas. The label states that it is an "IMPERIAL LICORICE PORTER" and it really doesn't deliver much licorice. In fact I didn't taste any real licorice or anise flavors. This beer actually trends closer (but not quite there) to a Baltic Porter. It seems to be lost somewhere in the middle.

From Labirratorium. In Teku glass. Playing Green Cat, then Bad End. Notorius, pleasant and not excessive roastyness, with a smooth body that hides the abv really well and maybe light vanilla and licorice notes

Soda pop, large-bubble head. No lace. Dark, dark brown color where no light shines through the edge.
Semisweet chocolate nose. A bit of chalk with a darker and longer malted toastiness.
Relatively dry with chocolate notes. Little coffee. No black patent malt flavors, yet this is darker than most Porters. Weak body with a lower than average carbonation. Overall, this works -- there's little chewiness.

A very dark, brown beer with a thin, beige head with almost no lacing on the glass.
