L: Very hazy, juicy amber color, one finger white head, ok lacing, no visible carbonation. Juice!

S: Tropical fruits, hops, juicy.

T: Tropical fruits, hops, some bitterness on the back end. One of the least tasty NEIPA's in Amagher's arsenal.

F: Medium bodied, adequately flavored.

O: It's a good beer but Amagher has so many better options.

Review: 33cl bottle of Amager Bryghus, Sigtebroad: 6.8% vol.

Interesting logo of a woman cutting what looks like some bread.

Looking at the bottle I get the horrible sight of a lot of sediment lying at the bottom of the glass. Looks rank, not appetizing at all. It’s a double hopped IPA!

Sure enough, on pour it doesn’t look any better. Getting a massive white head and an orangish coloured beer. But again all that sediment floating around, large chunks of it…YUCK!

I am nearly afraid to drink this, and you know me I’d drink any fucking thing!

Other than all the floaties, the appearance is a cloudy brew with a whitish head which maintains well, and an orange coloured beer, which if it wasn’t for the sediment would look ok.

The smell, on the other hand, is nice, very hoppy on the nose, with the fruits, all good.

Ok let’s dive into the taste!

Taste is very, very sweet and very hoppy as well. A bit too sweet. But at least its not rotten what with all that sediment!

Quite a strong beer, and not too bad to sip, but very hoppy. Citrus and tropical fruits overload. Well it is a double hop but still……lol

But nothing too exciting in the style, just another IPA that’s over hopped to the hilt, not terrible but not great.

Not fun to drink as it looks terrible……..I will pass on this…….

The colour is dark gold; the liquid hazy. The two fingers head is off-white and very compact. It sinks slowly leaving thick lacing on the glass.

The smell is strong with distinct notes of lime peels, honey, dried apricots, orange juice and pine needles. It is rather malty and sweet.

The taste is balanced with caramel malts and citric hops. Pine needles, lemon peels, red berries, some resin and orange cookies. Medium bitterness, medium to full body. The aftertaste brings warming clean alcohol, lime, bitter oranges and rye bread. Smooth alcohol and bitter hops in the long finish.

The carbonation is medium strong, the many small bubbles are sharp and long-lived. The liquid is smooth and somewhat sticky.

A “Double dry-hopped New England-style IPA”? Well, more like a classic 90’s DIPA with some haze. Delicious.

Nice NE style IPA but far to be as good as other European examples, despite the Trillium contribution. It's on the citrus, the pine and some tropical fruits. It has a big rye presence bringing its characteristic spiciness. Some sweetness and an ok mouthfeel. Enjoyable

Pours a murky orange with a massive cap of white foam.

Smell is tropical and crisp, with citrus and mango being joined by some rye.

Taste is powerful, tropical and very citrusy. Bitterness is perfectly integrated, and finishes with some peppery rye.

Mouthfeel is soft and pillowy, just the right amount of carbonation.

Overall, a terrific beer, and one of the best I've had from Amager.

Juicy guava and lychee at the front with a slightly spicy, dry kick at the end. Great stuff.

From Miguel. In Teku glass. Watching House of Cards. Original flavor profie. Not as juicy as other neipas but with a great feeling, thanks to a nice dryness at the end that makes you wanna sip again at once after each sip
