At RBWG-2014

Dark reddish-brown; a bit murky.

Moderately strong aroma flowed but a very very strong flavor.
Dark fruits, coffee, cherries, dark chocolate. Really high complexity.
Near chewy body.

Hmmm, description sounds good but I found this to be too extreme.

This is actually an Imperial oatmeal porter aged in portwine barrels and pours a dark black hue which lets no light through whatsoever and leaves a one finger creamy head and a rim of clingy lacing, the smell is port, oak, tobacco, rum and dark exspresso, the mouthfeel is thick and oily with tastes of dark chocolate coated rum balls, warm boozy alcohol, port, black coffee and finished with a dark chocolate bittersweetness and overall this is quite a suprise and a tasty drop for a very cold night would buy again cheers.

I think Ryan brought this. Thanks? Served in a tulip of some sort.

A - Tan foam dissolves to a thin collar, wisps, and an absence of lace. Very dark brown body.

S - Mix of biscuit, charred wood, tar, burnt rubber, and perhaps a faint hint of sweet grapey port in the periphery. A bit of booze mixed in for good measure.

T - The taste is a bit sweeter, with some of the oat character peeking through the char, ash, and burnt tire flavors. Really not getting much port or barrel flavor here; just an overly acrid stereotypical Danish flavor profile.

M - Smooth medium-full body, with pleasant carbonation, albeit a tad watery. Some warming alcohol, with oak and dryness in the finish.

D - This reminds me of Amager's port-barrel Hr. Frederiksen, but its even more extreme in the char flavors and restrained in the sweetness. Really tough to drink more than an ounce or two. Might appeal to smokers and Europeans, but not me.

Like a black hole. Absorbing darkness. Small tan head which dissipates to a thin film. Nice.

Fruity port notes. Lots of sweetness and some chocolate. Moderate oak. A nice porter with solid wood notes.

Rich and rounded porter. Nice cocoa and roast notes. Excellent oak integration and port notes.

Medium-full body with moderate carbonation. A solid creamy mouthful.

A lovely beer. Well integrated and straightforward. The base beer and wood are fantastic.
