Rich slightly malty body supports this generously hopped Imperial India Pale Ale.

12oz can - nice to see more of this brewery's stuff showing up here in the Great White North.
This beer pours a hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with four fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly off-white head, which leaves some spooky tree branch lace around the glass as it lazily sinks out of sight.
It smells of slightly dank pine resin, acrid orange, white grapefruit, and lemon citrus rind, gritty and grainy caramel malt, a bit of biscuity toffee, and more leafy, weedy, and estery floral verdant hoppiness. The taste is bready and doughy caramel malt, muddled domestic citrus flesh, a mild earthy yeastiness, and more testy leafy, musky, and piney verdant hoppiness.
The carbonation is adequate in its palate-strumming frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and actually quite smooth, with a decent creaminess slowly evolving as things warm up a tad. It finishes off-dry, the big malt parrying the still game hops until the (sort of) bitter end.
Overall - this is a rather enjoyable and quaffable version of the style, what with the 17-proof booze quotient being so polite and all. Good and hoppy, but with a strong like bull malt off-set, which makes for more of a glass half empty scenario, ya know what I mean?

Canned 03/06/23 it’s a bit aged but the malt keeps it tasty. It’s still good but fresher is always better and crisper. When your buddy brings back beer from Maui you’re grateful for the opportunity to share a hard to find beer back in Texas. THANKS MIKE!!

Pours deep gold with excellent clarity; tight white head with excellent cap retention; solid ring and sticky bands of medium minus lacing. Nose is grapefruit, passion fruit, guava…a tropical fruit salad.Taste follows nose with semi sweet (sweeter than “firm” for those of you who have suffered through my tasting notes these past few years) with little to no hop bitterness. Medium body, moderate minus carbonation, no warmth from 8.5% abv. Overall a really tasty DIPA…why haven’t I seen this beer in Cali, let alone FL?…it is tropical fruit good/I would so drink this DIPA at home…

Pours an effervescent gold and 3 fingers of pearl colored head. Nice head retention and lacing
S: Cakey
T: piney, pineapple and dry up front. More cakeyness and pine, plus pineapple one warm. Finishes cakey with leafy hops, plus pineapple and a little dryness
MF: Medium body, fairly firm carbonation, good balance
Nice take on the style, pretty tasty malty DIPA

From the draft at the Waikiki location. Nice appearance overall, with a hazy amber color and a nice head in the flight glass. To me, citrus in the nose, with a bit of malt added in the mouth. Nice!
