12 oz can served chilled into a goblet.

Liquid Breadfruit is a hazy coppery orange color with thin white head. It leaves a little lace as it settles.

Aroma is fruity and slightly funky like peach saison. I would say tropical fruit but that seems rather obvious.

Flavor is unexpectedly bitter after that nice sweet aroma. I don't know if the fruit lends the bitterness or if its all from the hops but it comes as a surprise. The breadfruit and papaya bring the light fruity flavors but they seem to compete with the bitterness.

Mouthfeel is light in body and nicely carbonated. It's a fairly balanced beer but leans towards the bitter.

Overall a solid beer but I would have liked a sweeter take on this idea.

A: Hazy orange golden in color. Poured with a thick white head that reduced to a thin sticky ring. Well carbonated to maintain the thin foam ring. Almost a green tinge in the sunlight. A couple of weird sediment pieces at the bottom.

S: Sweet and with passion fruit and wheat. Agave nectar. Like a tropical fruit drink mixed with a wheat beer.

T: Light refreshing and smooth up front. It finishes with a sweet and sour with sweetened lime and grapefruit. Very unique and refreshing.

M: Light and crisp. The slight sour taste finishes the beer very clean with no noticeable aftertaste. The high alcohol is barely even detected.

O: I'm quite impressed. A fascinating mix of sour sweet and wheat. Makes this beer a one of a kind. I've been really into sour beer lately, and this was a nice extension. It's not overly sweet like other fruit beers. If you can get over your fruit beer snobbery, I recommend this beer.

A plain tasting, fairly good beer...hardly worth the hoopla over exotic ingredients. Pours a nice clear dark gold /copper color with a big bubbly white head and good lacing. Head retention is better than average...A good looking beer.

Smell and taste are fairly average. Tastes like a well brewed lager. No corn and rice staleness....just a malty, light feeling beer with a little hoppiness in the finish. The kind of stuff Budweiser should be making.

Mouthfeel is crisp and rich enough to be a good lager....The 8.2% abv is a BIG surprise. This beer hides the alcohol well. If I had a six pack of this on a hot day, I would probably pound a few before reality sunk in.

If you are looking for something unusual, this is not it. All the same, it is a good summertime thirst quencher at a higher than normal octane level.

A- A very nice looking deep gold body with a frothy, off-white head. Good transparency and good head retention.

S- Tropical fruits, honey, pomegranate, bready yeast, white grapes. Has some similarities in the nose to a white wine.

T- The taste is nothing like the nose. I was expecting tropical fruits, and some do come through, but the flavor is huge on the yeast. I guess this is where the "bread" part comes into play. Huge bready yeast flavors take everything over and offer just a hint of the tropical fruit flavors that come through in the nose. The finish is slightly hot too, with some noticeable, almost medicinal alcohol.

M- With it being very yeasty, it is somewhat heavier than it looks. Overall, pretty drinkable with a slight alcohol burn.

O- Looks great, smells great, there are good things here, but the overpowering yeast and somewhat boozy body leaves me looking for more. Not sure if this would be a good one to age, but slightly less yeast and alcohol would benefit this one.

Just got it 11/17/12 on Kauai.

A - Hazy, orange/amber. Poured 2 finger head...quickly dissapated.

S - Citrus on the nose, lemon, some fleshy notes (though I've lived out here for 5+ years I've never actually had breadfruit to eat). Honey.

T/M - Nice and tart. Actually feel the subtle notes of the 'fruit' coming through. Definitely some body to the beer. Can taste some green/garden notes as the beer warms.. Trying to reach for words but they're escaping...unique.

O - This is a very well balanced beer, especially considering the uniqueness of the ingredients. Expensive but worth the try. 8.2% is very well hidden.

Couldn't resist this unique offering. Tasted 12 June 2013, reviewed from notes.

Pours a medium golden color, a little hazy but mostly clear. One finger of off-white head.

Smell is surprisingly clean. There's a bit of fruit in there, but mostly it feels like clean, lightly fruity malts. Fine, but neither interesting nor surprising.

Taste makes up for what's lacking in the smell, with a burst of unique, slightly bitter fruit, complemented by an apparent hop bitterness that I have a hard time distinguishing from the fruit. It tastes like one of those weird tropical fruits that you're not sure if you want to keep eating or spit out, but on balance it's good. Never had breadfruit, but the papaya is clearly present, and it sure hit the mark for recalling exotic fruit flavors. Bitter enough that, without the fruity flavors, it would drink like an IPA.

Feel is fine. Medium-bodied, enough carbonation. Not notable.

An interesting beer, though not one I'm sure I'd drink again, as the novelty of the taste is the main thing commending it. Bitter and fruity in a pleasing way.

Poured from a 355 ml can. Pours a hazy, yellow-orange colour. Tons of ripe tropical fruit and spicy hop notes on the nose. Very pronounced boozy note, as well. Interesting mix of marzipan and dried fruit flavours capped off by a big bitter finish. A big beer in every regard.

12oz can from "Lifesource" in Salem. $2.49 Pours a hazy orange/gold small persistent creamy white head. Not much aroma to speak off but mainly malty, toffee with some pitted fruit like in the back. Taste is very much more fruity..mellow fruitiness balanced by nice caramel type malt..spicy/bitter in the end. Actually nice. Mouth feel is good and thick but also easily drinkable not much sigh of the high alc. Overall a nice enough beer.
