Hybrids are common in the world of viticulture, as growers attempt to produce the best and most tolerant grape. Hermann Muller, of Thurgau Switzerland did just than in 1882 as he crossed Reisling with Madeleine Royale to create the Muller-Thurgau grape. Now, a new hybrid has formed at Oakshire as our Brewmaster worked with Anne Amie Vineyards to create this beer/wine hybrid. We used Anne Amie's classic Muller Thurgau grapes and artfully blended it with a Belgian Golden Ale and matured it with Brettanomyces in Anne Amie's Pinot Noir barrels for a year. Hermanne is light and crisp, with a complex fruity middle and dry tannic finish.

Here's another beer that made its appearance at the Nevada football home opener tailgate in September '21.
Pours that orange/amber like color. 1/3" off white head. The aroma was grape and bretty. Its not quite a beer/wine hybrid of 50/50 proportions, but at least 25/75 thus far.
The taste swings even further to the wine end, the grapes are more noticeable taste wise. There is a stone fruit brett presence that is tasty. Mouth feel body has a heavier than its abv and appearance thing for it, but that might be due to a kind of subdued carbonation level. Not terribly subdued, minorly subdued. Dude. The oak also contributes to the wine like feel, these come off as french oak/pinot. Requisite tannin mention. Grain definitely present, lower viscosity more likely due to carbonation instead of excessive barley input. Sour aspect was pretty mild, 2.5/10 pt wild ale scale.
Was pretty good stuff, man every beer that day was good. Good beer, good times and we got the W.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.
Pours a murky light orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, vanilla, wine grape, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with slightly sour grain, fruit, wine, and wood flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with solid flavors, but the aromas seem a bit disjointed to me.
Serving type: bottle.
