Look: Dark brown on the pour but looks black in the glass and my sloppy pour yields a nice tan head that erupts to a pillow and holds, slowly receding and leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Espresso, roast, dark chocolate, fresh baked brown bread, some light earthiness, and roasted tree nuts
Taste: Starts off with a rich, chocolatey, roasted coffee punch that hits hard and develops depth before being followed with light earthy notes. Toasted grains and roasted nuts appear as the espresso/chocolate subsides and closes with more coffee, bready malt, and earthiness
Mouthfeel: Full, smooth, medium-high carbonation, and a slightly robust finish
Overall: This is good stuff. I had forgotten not only about this beer in general the last couple years but also how dang tasty it is. A very well-made coffee stout that seems to have all components in perfect balance and in harmony. Glad I revisited it as I won’t make the mistake of forgetting it again and would recommend it to anybody, especially fans of coffee stouts

On tap into a snifter. Solid opaque black color, nice creamy nitro esque head, great hard crown. Pale chocolate nose with some bark, cinnamon, and a touch of anise. The taste is thin up front, but gains traction with some bitter coffee up front, shifting into cacao and cedar, a hint of vanilla, and ending on a rich burnt malt flavor reminiscent of sweet charcoal. The body is oily and slick, moderate dry, and nicely effervescent.
Great dry stout with a nice espresso accent without being overwhelming.

Coal black body; thick and frothy light tan head; sticky sheets of foam cling to the glass. Excellent blend of charred and roasted grains on the nose with notes of coffee permeating it all. Mild sweet chocolate flavor; vanilla and cocoa; low-key bitterness. Heavy body; smooth and silky on the palate; gently sweet overall.
This beer delivers a rich and delicious treat to your palate. The coffee and espresso nicely balance the malt and chocolate sweetness. A mighty fine beer...

Bursting coffee aromas. Silky and velvety vanilla on the palate. Light tannin flavors. Not as bitter as many stouts. Creamy and rich. Nice roastiness.

Poured from the can into a nonic pint glass.
Frothy rich and deep forming cascading head right out of the can. Nice tan color with a large four finger controlled fist full tall head, filled with fine and small swiss cheese like bubbles. Classic very dark brown body nearly black with an excellent deep hinting red glow. Excellent looking stout.
Real nice aroma as well. Rich bursting coffee, with a ripping bean quality just ground right and fresh. Hints with a good amount of nutty quality in the mix kind of husky thick grains as well mixing with wonderful roast malt character.
Palate is a real winner. Excellent silkly and light body, with creamy textures just whipped up with a faint touch of vanilla to match. Excellent rich cookie dough flavors of dark chocolate and coffee mixed right in. Finishes with a real nice fruity bean quality and a touch of phenolic clove spice which mixes in just real nicely.
This packs an enjoyable and rich amount of flavor under 6% abv. Excellent brew.
