This was brewed as part of Oakshire's single batch series for Saint Patrick's Day.
It appears coffee black with a luscious thick espresso foam looking head.
It smells of smooth roasted malts. I get a bit of a mild coffee type of a smell and a very mild hardly noticeable slightly sour chocolate smell.
It tastes mostly of roasted slightly smoky malt. There is a mild chocolate flavor. There is a slight sourness to the beer that helps balance the beer. The beer ends with a very, very mild amount of bitterness. This stout is amazingly smooth. It goes down very smooth.
In typical nitro fashion the stout is smooth and creamy.
Overall a great dry Irish stout. This is a pretty traditional version of the style but it is a very tasty beer and is one of the best examples of the styles I have tried.
