look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 4

Appearance: Clear toned copper in color, beautiful to behold, with a dense, thick white head, which developed slowly, but retains well. The lacing is thin and broken, resembling heiroglyphs.

Aroma: massive notes of caramel and lesser earthy peat notes. There is also a pronounced dark bread note that is quite appealing.

Taste: Opens with tangy peat and caramel, as the taste progresses, the peat notes come into their own, displacing the caramel. These rise in intensity to the close of the taste, where there is a ghostly metallic bitterness.

Mouth feel: Smooth, soft and pleasant.

Drinkability/notes: Not as over-the-top as I would have hoped, but very, very good, nonetheless.

Presentation: Packaged in a sixty-four ounce brown glass growler filled at the brewery, served in a standard Pilsener glass. Alas, I could not find my thistle glass.
