Gorgeous jet sheen with a massive dark brown head. Retentionnnnn

Nose is a huge let down... or at least what of it I find. Faint chocolate dusting on top of.... not much. Maaaaybe a faint creamy roastiness. All positive flavours, but just barely detectable.

Alright, well that's more like it... Thick rich creamy...Chocolate, quality coffee, a touch of molasses... This is all the things I love about RISs, body and flavour. As I said it's chewy, it's thick, it's smoothe, just enough carbonation to keep things lively. This won't trick you into thinking it's low alcohol or anything, but it doesn't exactly slam into your face either. Well balanced between the sweet chocolate and the bitter coffee and darker chocolate. I really enjoyed North VII, and only had this on hand because it came in a two pack as the only way for me to grab another VII. This one is the stronger of the two, it's very. very. good.

Pours a finger and half of tan head on a black body.
The aroma is a wonderful blend of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, licorice and milk.
The taste is creamy, toasted malt, cocoa, coffee and only the slightest hint of alcohol.
The texture is soft and smooth.
This is an awesome beer.

Decent, sweet, roast aroma
The taste is a pleasant surprise. Smooth, balanced, and easy drinking taste.
The feel fits well.

Overall - An outstanding beer for a great price.

When you don't have 10 dollars for a delicious bomber of Russian Imperial Stout but don't want to settle for a mediocre beer, look no further. North VIII satisfies. I really can't recommend it highly enough. Truly on par with those other 10 dollar stouts.
