A slice of deliciousness. From a month old can and drinking super smooth belgian yeast and orange dominate. Not much spice or banana or whatever else one would expect from a Belgian wheat. The mouthfeel is outstanding. This is one smooth drinking beer.

Out of the 12 ounce can purchased in Seattle, on to the beer:

Hazy indeed with a yellow orange color to it, and topped with a slightly creamy head which dissipates into dots of white. The smell of fresh coriander is vibrant, and that swims with light citrus and cream.

Quick Wit is more than just a mere quick fix for my appetite. The orange peel has a pleasing bite underneath that lovely coriander. The creaminess of the oats adds a unique sweetness that allows the adjuncts to continually shine. As a bonus, the crisp sensation at the end of each sip is admirable.

Quick Wit has warm weather beer written all over it. Too bad I only have one can with me :-(

Can into a tulip. Hazy yellow. The yeast on the nose. Lemon, pepper alongside of the yeast taste wise. Somewhat tart, smooth yet really effervescent. Exceptionally good wit beer,!

On tap at Life of Pie tonight.

A mildly hazy orange with a thin white head with good retention, this looks great. The nose is solid. Bright with citrus and with some coriander, mildly bready, though more of a white bread character, this is solid. The palate is similar, delivering the refreshing goods with a blend of citrus peel, coriander and wheat with a pleasant yeast note. A little watery on the palate, this beer finishes with a mild grainy and citrus note. Solid.

Nice head that dissipated in a few minutes with some lacing left behind. Nose is fruity and ready, not yeasty but rather like baked bread. Hints of pineapple, oranges, spice (cardamom?). Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, fruity and slightly bready with hints of apples, light citrus and spice. Finish is long but clean with just the slightest hoppy bitterness that bring it all togetrher. Bit heady/hot on the finish at first but overall well made and very sessionable. Great American twist on a Belgian classic without being too American.

12oz can purchased at Huckleberry’s in Spokane for $1.79 (20 cents off regular price). According to the bottom of the can, this was canned on June 12th.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, this was a hazy, apricot shade of amber, with a good-sized, bubbly white head that dropped after a few minutes but left an odd looking, half-moon skiff on the top of the beer.

Earthy, tartly fruity and spicy in the nose, as expected for the style.

Mildy tart and spicy, with earthy tones.

Mouthfeel is where things unravel a bit. A light bodied beer, it’s not bad, just a little bit flabby for the style. A bit more of a crisp, clean finish this would be in the front ranks of the style.

A — Pours a bright yellowy hue with a puffy white colored head. Some lacing is left behind.

S — Smells of sweet wheat, yeast, malt, and light fruits, banana and apricot.

T — Tastes of banana and yeasty wheat esters, nice and bright,

M — Medium bodied, somewhat fleeting finish.

O — Good overall, very wheaty and banana forward.
