solid lager here, not the kind of thing i know these guys for, but they did this well, should come as no surprise that its a little hoppy for what it is, thats kind of their thing. nice golden yellow brew with a short but lasting white head on it from the tap, nice carbonation throughout as well. it smells a little biscuity, bready, and a tad sweet, maybe some corn in the mash here, lightly baked, somewhat richer than its pale color would suggest, and with some bitter citrus notes from the hops there as well, not quite noble but maybe a little bit of a saaz vibe anyway. the flavor is pleasant, somewhat more robust than a lot of pale lager types, and it was instantly a nice fit for heady pizza. for me it was perfect in this context because its neither too light to be irrelevant or too bold to interfere with food you really want to taste, maybe that should be a new category, pizza lager! the maltiness works, it finishes clean, the lager yeast has some old world flavor to it, almost a german vibe here, and the hops make it northwestern and modern. good balance, very drinkable but not a total pounder either. these guys continue to impress...

Look: Semi-clear light orange in color and the pour brings about a white head that swells, then settles to a lid, leaving good lacing behind
Aroma: Grains, freshly baked bread, wafts of corn, floral hop notes, and bread dough
Taste: Floral hops and even a light citrus note starts it off and holds the spotlight some as bready malt and cereal grains trickle in. Dough, bread, and hops go back and forth until floral-dominate hops regain control and close it out
Mouthfeel: Light but full, very clean feeling throughout, medium-high carbonation, and a crisp and clean finish
Overall: I dig it. I haven’t had this beer in probably a decade and wasn’t impressed last time I did though admittedly, at that point I wasn’t a huge lager fan, which is the opposite of where I am as a beer geek today. It’s a nice quaffable American lager and not corny (pun intended) which I feared it might be. Very nice on a summer’s eve

A good looking lager. Light golden amber, lotsa those tiny bubble streams, fine lasting head. As with most lagers, aroma is light -- `beer-y' plus a bit of pine. You get a clean malt taste at first, then a hoppy finish. A simple, yet well crafted beer. No pretensions, no fancy hop bills. We're impressed.

Can from Market of Choice.
A clear straw yellow with a dense, white head with good retention and lacing this looks great. The nose is soft and rustic, clean and crisp with grain, a little corn, and a light, vaguely floral hop character. Mildly sweet. The palate opens crisp, snappy with grain and an almost mineral water character, with high carbonation that lends an acidity that tempers the sweetness. Drying, crisp, clean and with lingering carbonic acid that pairs with the lightly fruity flavor nicely. Solid stuff, glad to see it back!

From a can to a pint glass: nice honey color, transparent. Thick meringue like head. Mostly grain on the nose. Surprisingly hoppy taste wise, with pilsner style hops. I love this one and buy often. Not many steam/dampfbier s on the shelf.

Can, poured into a pint Glass.
L: Crystal clear and golden, 2 finger white head, no lacing.
S: Sweet corn, woody, hoppy at the end.
T: Smooth yet a bitter hop finish.
F: Creamy, heavier than expected mouth feel, light to medium.
O: For an adjunct lager beer, I do enjoy the creamed corn flavor with a dry hop finish. Bittering hops are strong for the style, which is very pleasant. For the price, I could do much better, but good for what it is.

Served from 16oz blue can
A — Pours a mostly clear and bubbly pale yellow color into the glass. A nice nearly pure white head forms and leaves behind some consistent enough lacing. Fairly unassuming and uneventful.
S — Grainy and bright, light, not a whole lot going on, a bit of cereal grain and some light malt sweetness. Slight Noble hop character of grass and bitterness.
T — Lightly grainy and semi-sweet malt notes are apparent initially. Some presence of Noble hops help balance out the sweetness.
M — Light and mostly dry, a nice carbonation level makes this one very refreshing.
O — Nice overall, a little bit sweet and the adjunct of corn is apparent. Still a nice enough lager that is refreshing and clean.

On draft at Cornucopia, Eugene. Very nice light yellow/gold color. Aroma pleasant flowery. Tastes more like a NW Pale with sight bitterness but still solid corn undertone. Mouthfeel also very nice. Too bad Prohibition put an end to the style (until recently) -- it's very much better than the American Lagers that survived.
