On tap at Growler Guys PDX the other day.

The beer pours a hazy orange amber color with good head retention and lacing. On the nose, I get some light peach, a hint of funk from the brett (I gather), and maybe some underlying spice. It's all nice enough, but I wish there was a bit more going on. On the palate, it's just more of the same, though there's a good dollop of sour as well. Again, its pretty decent, but the beer just comes off as a bit lackluster and lightweight. The finish is dry and pretty sour. Frankly, I was pretty surprised by the abv., as it really doesn't drink like an 8.6% beer (I would have guessed something in the 5% or 6% range).

Shrug. This is a decent beer, one that reminds me a bit of Fantasia from Upright. It doesn't have the flavor intensity or complexity of the beer from Upright of course, but maybe future versions will be better. Was glad to have the opportunity to sample this at GG's, but given the fairly high level of sour, I was glad I stuck with a small, sample size pour of it.

2016

Appearance: An attractive clear orange pour, at first, but the head fritters away; splashy lacing while it lasts

Smell: Smells like peaches and Brett

Taste: The peach flavor comes through but it tastes like a powdered peach drink; through the middle, there is some leathery impact from the Brett; the finish is somewhat understated as the sourness never really kicks in

Mouthfeel: Medium body with low carbonation

Overall: Maybe this has lost a step since it was bottled in 2017 but it just isn't coming through all that impressively

Thanks, jheimbigner, for the opportunity

Very little head on the pour quickly dissipates, somewhat peach-like huge.

Aroma of peach, hay and leather.

Underripe peach flavour is a bit tart, leathery, dry finish.

Thanks to Thomas & Jenny for sharing this one!
Quick review from written notes.

Hazy orange with minimal head or lacing, broken skim across the surface.
Light peach aroma, sort of a basic Brett wild ale profile, somewhat acidic.
Puckeringly tart, peach fruit and pits, fairly light in intensity. Kind of one-note, it's good but not as interesting as the Tahoma Kriek with Rainier cherries.

375 picked up at Bier Thirty for a VERY pricey $15.... Double Mnt is pretty proud of this one. Pours a mostly clear glowing orange with a decent white head... Very tart peach on the nose and really puckery fermented out peach essence flavor... Brett becomes much more present as it warms up... Peach flavor is mellow but it tastes real and not artificial at all. Very good peach sour... Expensive, but I will have to pick up a couple more just to have around.

375ml bottle split between a pair of small Cantillon glasses.

Pours clear golden with a medium creamy white head and a surprising amount of carbonation. Smell is tart, green fruit.

Taste is a bit weird. Unexpected funk, only a little sour, and the sour is a little off. Peach is recognizable.

Mouthfeel is dry, moderately thick. Overall, not a big fan.

Poured from 375mL bottle into a tulip.

Appearance: nice golden hue with a bit of haze and a light effervescence. Head is a thin layer of creamy white foam; not too bad.

Smell: a light tartness and funk along with a light peach character. It's good, but not especially high-volume.

Taste: starts off with a little tartness, and then the peaches and funk appear. Overall there's quite a lot of sweetness, which provides a nice counterpoint to the sourness. Unfortunately, there's just something about the peach character that doesn't quite come together for me; it's not bad, but it's not as good as I want it to be.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a good carbonation and a decent creaminess.

Overall: this is not a bad beer, but its lack of real fruity character just didn't quite work for me.

2014 vintage. Bottled 6/29/15.

Pours a murky dark orange with a foamy bone head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is sour with grain, peach, peach juice, and acidic aromas. Taste is much the same with sour peach, peach juice, earth, and slight funk flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp and dry mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a sour peach presence that comes through much better in the smell and a Brett presence that is very subtle.

Serving type: bottle.

Pours a hazy, peachy-gold. How appropriate! Half a finger of white head. Nice nose of peaches with light funk, yeast, and vinous notes. Taste is great. Nice sour peach, light funk. Juicy and delicious. Medium body, maybe a bit lighter. Medium amount of fine carbonation. Enjoying this much more that the krieks.

Of the three I've had from Double Mountains amazing sours, this was barely me least favorite. Great acidity, flavor, and feel, just not as much depth as others. Was hoping the peach would stand out a little more. Cheers!
