Dark reddish brown with lasting white fluffy head. Smells of gingerbread, brown sugar, pie crust, some whipped cream, slight tangy raisin. Tastes of brown sugar, pie crust, booze jumps in and smacks the tongue around, raisin tang, alcohol fades out the drink. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. A boozy dessert style pumpkin beer that's a bit too boozy for it's own good. Alcohol and brown sugar bomb.

Poured into a pint glass.

A: Slightly hazy deep amber with lots of tiny bubbles and a two-finger, off-white, fizzy head that diminished too quickly (less than a minute). Virtually no lacing.

S: Pumpkin, nutmeg, and cinnamon. I could smell it clearly as I was pouring it.

T: Light sweetness and slight bitterness. The first taste is alcohol. There is also a nice balance of pumpkin and spice.

M: Light to medium bodied. Somewhat smooth. A bit dry.

O: The way too quickly diminishing head and the strong alcohol flavor were a turn-off for me. I thought this pumpkin ale was just slightly above average.

Picked up a large corked and caged bottle from the Allentown Wegmans. This ruby-orange beer has a short head and slight haze. Overall, the beer is a touch sweet and also has a mild sourness, neither of which as I really digging. The aroma is dominated by pumpkin pie spices with a little pumpkin seed and caramel. The taste, however, has a tangy lemon element under pumpkin meat and light vanilla spice. Maybe it's just the hops, alcohol, and spice, but this might turn into a lambic after a couple years.

750 ml corked & caged bottles into a couple of snifters. Thanks go to HopDerek for sharing this one. By the way, what's up with the label on this? I know it's supposed to be a pumpkin being shoved in a glass but it looks more like a pumpkin puking on the floor. Blech!

Pours a hazy burnt amber orange, topped with about a finger of foamy light tan head. This fizzles out pretty darn quickly, barely having any retention or leaving any lacing back. Pretty dead looking overall. The aroma is fairly aggressive in the nose with the spices, but there is a still a fair amount of bready sweetness for it to latch onto and give this some twang. Pumpkin meat is present and has a bit of a raw veggie feel to it that is probably only strengthened by some citric hops in the background as well. Light alcohol fusels round this out.

I think the taste works a little better here, with a sticky sweet base of sweetness that helps balance out the green and earthy flavors from the pumpkin and hops and it all combines to give this a rather tart and tangy feel. The spices seem more flavorful here as well and aren't overdone at all, seeming to latch onto the more bitter notes of this. The mouthfeel is medium to maybe a little fuller bodied and is sharp upon first sip but then gets much creamier feeling as this moves out across the palate. Alcohol flavors are kept to a minimum but the ABV definitely gives this some heft in the mouth.

This was pretty decent and started to win me over a bit the longer I worked on it. The aroma was a little lacking but the taste got things back on with a well balanced blend of Pumpkin beer flavors and this was pretty darn drinkable for being a 9% beer.

Enjoyed a 12 FL. OZ. bottle of this in a trade w/ ipaking67. Poured from the black labeled bottle w/ a Pumpkin smashed into the shape of a strawberry on the front into my 16oz Jack's Pumpkin Spice Ale Weizen Glass. Does not have a freshness date on the bottle but DOES have a Mobile Scanning BarCode for "Tasting Notes & Secrets". Very cool!

Aroma- Has good spices around. Not much pumpkin though... Sweet and smells like nutmeg and bit of cinnamon were in the background.

Appearance- Pours a .5 finger head that dies quickly. Has a nice copper body color with an orange tint and great clarity. Leaves no lacing behind.

Flavor- Very sweet with tons of malt and a small bit of spice. Pumpkin comes into the finish with a bit of hop character too! Interesting but not what I'm looking for... Where is the pumpkin!?!?

Mouthfeel- Medium Bodied, Medium Carbonation, Smooth, and has a bit of warming feel at the finish with spice.

Overall Impression- An average Pumpkin but would like more from Allentown Brew Works! Send them my way! An above average pumpkin that just didn't have enough character for me. Would like to enjoy again but on-tap. Appreciated the flavors but would throw many other Pumpkins into my Pumpkin Recommendation line before this one. Didn't even realize it was a 9% brew until reading the label more closely!

Appears a dense dark amber with a fluffy white head that quickly fizzles away. Spotty bits of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of roasted pumpkin, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Perhaps a hint of lemon peel, or grains of paradise.
Taste is of the aromas with a citrusy blast atop the pumpkin and spice. Tastes like key lime juice is threading through the malt.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, spritzy, and sugary but there's a strange lime flavor to me that is sort of distracting. Not sure what that's about. This started great for me and ended strangely with a citrus abundance.
