A: It pours out of the bottle exactly as you'd hope a good bourbon barrel aged imperial stout would. Syrupy black with a robust brown head that builds up a decent amount and sticks around for a bit. I only wish the head laced the glass a bit more. 4.5
S: The aroma is of deep, dark chocolate and a lot of oak surprisingly. The bourbon is there, as is a burn of alcohol, but the oak is definitely the most noticeable hint remaining from the barrel. 4
T: The taste bring the alcohol much more than I got it on the aroma. The burn at the backend is all bourbon, with oak sitting on the back of the tongue. After the alcohol has subsided, rich chocolate fills the mouth with a very slight amount of roast. This is a boozy beast for only being 9%. I'm a big fan of bourbon bombs, but this needed another character to make it stand out. 3
MF: A bit too thin, but with the normal amount of carbonation. I thought the alcohol level prohibited this from being very drinkable as well. 2.5
O: I didn't hate this beer, but it just doesn't stand out for the style. A delightfully average bourbon barrel aged imperial stout if you asked me. 3

Pours pitch black with appropriate mocha head that hangs around a bit. Aroma is a bit yeasty, chocolate and bourbon prevail. Taste is a bit tangy, tastes like chololate covered cherries. Barrel rounds out the creamy mouthfeel with a lingering finish of chocolate, vanilla, light roast coffee. Light bodied for the style yet quite flavorful, worth buying a 4 pack and revisiting annually to see how it developed.

12 oz bottle (repeated in Nov. 2015).
Flavor: Has a very rich flavor with good use of barrel aging. Slightly smokey but no burnt qualities. Excellent balance.
Feel: Medium-full body with appropriate carbonation.
O: Given no expectations, a pleasant surprise. Highly recommended.

Pours pitch black with a tiny head that fades fast. Seemingly no lacing.
Rich vanilla, bourbon, toffee, bit of chocolate sweetness on the nose. super sweet and delicious smelling.
Woody, chocolatey up front. Bourbon in the middle with a slightly bitter coffee on the tail end. Very nice spiciness is in there as well.
Thick and silky smooth. Coats the mouth. Very slight warming from the alcohol.
This is a worthwhile stout. The BB aging definitely comes through and rounds it out nicely.

Single bottle, 55F from a 4 pack, purchased form the bar at ABW. Served in a St. bernardus chalice.
A- Very nice thick black color with two fingers of tan head
S- Sweet and pleasant- very few imperfections
T- Rich chocolate, heavy bourbon, roasted dark coffee. Definately bitter sweet.
M- Luxiorious and creamy, a little thinner than I prefer.
O- A very solid brew from brew works- a little overwhelming on so many strong "flavors" and it detracts from the malt/roast profile of the stout.
