Spent a week in FL theme parks and couldn't find a stout anywhere. Then I see this guy carrying something that looks like a root beer but in an open topped plastic pint glass and I practically accost him... "Is that a stout?!" I demand, blocking his escape from my path. He affirms that it is, gladly tells me the name and points me in a direction. No beer has ever made me so happy. Any stout would have been incredible to find under these circumstances, but this one's GOOD... REALLY GOOD. It is rich, almost imperial. Sweet, malty aroma, caramel notes on the tongue, adequately thick, pours nearly black with a dark tan head. Basically, this checks all the boxes. If I'd paid as much for it (I think it was around $9 or $10) anywhere else, I would not have been disappointed, but to pay as much for it as for a bud light anywhere else in the park... Well that only added to my love for it. Overall, if you like stouts and you're there, this is a must do.

Had to chaperone my younger sister to her new school (think it was called Hogwards or something), anyways, I wasn't expecting much from the craft beer scene and was pleasantly surprised upon stumbling into the Wizard's Brew.

I'm tempted to rate the Brew straight 5's across the board just for the fact that every other beer available around Hogwards consisted of your typical offerings from the big breweries (Bud, Bud Light, Coors, Coors Light), but I digress....The Brew poured a Dementor black, tasted of chocolate frogs, and went down smooth as butter beer. Very Impressed!

I will say, if you end up going with the Wizard's Brew, make sure to grab a seat directly in front of the pub. For some reason there was an endless stream of children (mentally challenged I assume), who were waving sticks at this mermaid fountain and going bunkers whenever a trickle of water shot out. Crazy place thats for sure...

Served on tap at The Leaky Cauldron inside the incredible Diagon Alley at Universal Studios. Now I will start by stating that I am partial to Sweet Stouts, in addition to the fact that I was feeling out at Diagon Alley so those things may have altered my perception a bit. Now on to the good stuff:

This thing poured excellent with a solid inch and a half of foam that resonated for quite some time. Smell is malty with hints of chocolate and an almost fig-like scent. Taste was excellent. Everything you'd want from a sweet stout on the front end with a strong finish as well. Mouthfeel was somewhat smooth.

Overall this is the best of the three specially-made craft beers for the park. If you are a Harry potter fan as well as a fan of good beer, you will be in heaven.

Had at Universal Studios in the new Diagon Alley section, pours into the cup a lovely dark deep brown with a nice dark tan head that lasts. Inviting aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Great flavor, complex, nice chocolate notes all around, roasted malt, bitter coffee, some sweetness at the end. A little heavier body (but maybe that's just the Florida humidity getting to me), but overall a real treat. I thought this would be watery and gimmicky, but this is the real deal, a very tasty stout!

Very surprised by this one. Didn't expect much at Daigon Alley in Universal Studios but this is a full bodied sweet stout. Nice smooth chocolate notes. Sweet finish but not sickly sweet. A bit one dimensional but an overall nice beer to sit a spell at the Leaky Cauldron.

Look: Deep black with a thin tan head.

Smell: Light roasted malt scent, sweet chocolate. A bit milder than average.

Taste: Like the nose, milder than average for a stout. Roasted malt with a sweeter malt backbone. Very little roasty bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Also lighter than average for a stout! More carbonation as well.

Overall: Essentially a “diet stout” for beginners and tourists. Has the same profile, but greatly lightened and sweetened.

First had on draft poured into 20-oz. cup at The Hopping Pot, Diagon Alley, Universal Studios, Florida. Not sure how I missed this one on our first trip to Universal. In any event, this stout is not too big, and not too complex, but eminently drinkable.
