I've had this brew a few times, today is the first time I am going to review it from my notes. This beer is light yellow with some haziness. The smell is always interesting, some yeast and grassiness and lime. The flavor is nice an wheaty at the front with some typical spice from a witibier then the lime kick. This is a ligh fizzy beer perfect for summer drinking brings out the Florida flavors.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a small white head. In the aroma, light lemon citrus, hints of lime and wheat notes. In the taste, dry banana, wheat notes, and a clean presence of citrus. A small spice bite and medium to light mouthfeel, with a dry banana and spice in the aftertaste. nice dry spice and banana hints. Small lime hints made it more interesting.

Review from BeerAdvocate magazine Vol. II Issue IX:

Nothing wrong with having a gimmicky theme to a beer; and the whole Key West/key lime thing in a Belgian Wheat sounds terrific.

A good, healthy dose of white lacing rims the glass and sticks like a champ. Hazy pale golden yellow is par for the style. Pleasant aroma--a touch soapy from the spices with a hint of lime peel, though nothing new or out of place and it seems to fit very well. Very smooth with a tight crispness in the back end; moderate sized body. A light lime flavor throughout, coriander and orange peel are very flavorful, faintly soapy, but the modest hop bitterness and flavor cleans that up. A slight bready tone, clean and a little doughy but light as well. Finishes with a citric--both orange and lime--and earthy mineral twang with some orange sweetness and dry malt, making for an interesting aftertaste.

This beer works! Great balance between hops, malt and spicing, as well as the lime. Easy to drink, though one bottle was good enough.

Poured a modestly hazy yellow into a pint glass, with zero head, very little carbonation, and little to no lacing. The nose revealed very subtle lemon, grass, and hay; not much else. The taste seemed like a watered-down version of itself, with very subdued notes of the above flavors, and an awkwardly bitter finish. Very thin, unbalanced, and more carbonated than the appearance.

A - pours a lighter yellow with a decent head

S - smells like a wit shoudl - wheaty with coriander. The touch of lime is also present. Nice little twist with the lime.

T - the taste follows the nose perfectly. Starts odd with a lot of wheat that is soon followed by a some coriander. The lime comes through on the finish. Nice light, flavor...good summer beer taste.

M - nice carbonation with a medium body

D - this is the epitome of a summer beer. Nothing too uberly complex. The lime adds a nice twist to the belgian wit style. If I had regular access to this, I would buy it again.

The beer came in a 12oz bottle and I poured it into a Pilsener glass.

A -The beer had a frothy white head with moderate retention that was about inch tall. Color was a light hazy amber. There was a lot of carbonation.

S -The aroma had a light to medium intensity. Smell was grass, yeast, and a very light lime pulp.

T- Had light flavor intensity. The beer had notes of lime, grass and yeast. It reminded me of a Corona with a big lime in it.

M -Light with a slick finish, fizzy feel.

D - Drinkable after working out in the yard. Don't think I would seek this one out but would quaff if offered.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy honey color with a rather modest head for the style; the foam fades rather quickly and very little lacing is left behind

Smell: The tartness of the key lime juice dominates the aroma and underneath are the more traditional wit elements of wheat bread, coriander and orange peel

Taste: Opens with a bready flavor and, just as the wit elements start to manifest themselves, a blast of pungent key lime juice takes over; then, the citrusy hops step in to add to the jumble of flavors; after the swallow, it all settles down but the lime flavors linger in the finish

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with spritzy carbonation

Drinkability: An interesting attempt to establish a Florida beer but there is a clash here that I have never before noticed in a beer - it just doesn't blend together properly

Got this bottle from the brewery.

A: Pours a Hazy Golden with a rocky frothy head that stays for quite a while.

S: Smells like a cross between a Hefeweizen and a Saison. I smell the banana and cloves, But I also pick up a peppery spicy aroma.

T: Similar to a hefeweizen but with more of a tangy after taste. The lime peel makes this beer just a bit too tart for me. I'll blame it on the bottle because this was great on draft at the brewery.

MF: Thick with lots of carbonation.

D: A refreshing American Hefe-Style wheat beer. Alot more complex than I thought this company would offer. Perfect for the summer.

This beer is a solid belgian wheat beer based out of Florida. It has a distinctive citrus smell and taste, though more lime than lemon/orange. The mouthfeel is enjoyable, but not great. All in all, it's a good beer for hanging out in South Florida and I would get it again.

Whoa and yikes! I'm glad i only got two bottles of this beer. Pours a clear, golden boringness. Very minimal head thats thin and almost invisible lacing. Smells of sour budweiser. Very light in the mouth for a wheat beer, watery and thin, and to me "airy'

Has a faint citrus-bitter taste, quite flat, no taste of lime whatsoeve, gives me that gut-rot feeling.

Glassware - Shaker Pint

Appearance - Golden yellow in color with a short fizzy white head that recedes in to a solid cap. Leaves a little bit of lacing on the glass but nothing really spectacular.

Nose - Kind of funky what aroma and not much else. There is a little bit of assorted citrus but it is mostly just funky wheat.

Taste - There is a little more citrus in the taste but any refreshment that would have provided is being over powered by the funky wheat.

Mouthfeel - Thin and watery with a lot of carbonation...

Overall - It is what it is, another thin watery beer for the masses. I would not recommend this to anyone and will not be buying any more of it myself. I wish, as probably the largest craft brewer from Florida, they would make a better beer but instead we have to live with mediocrity.

Obtained a sixer at Publix. Poured into a standard pint glass.

A: Cloudy golden yellow with a tan tint, showing a nice little off-white head. No lacing.

S: Wheat, miscellaneous citrus, lemon, coriander with subtle notes of acidic lime juice.

T: Starts out with a wave of artificial citrus, followed by a waft of decently structured wheat, finished by a bitter lemon lime tang. Refreshing brew, albeit a little confusing. The beer tastes confused: it's not sure if it's a Corona with a lime wedge or a Blue Moon. A little too busy.

Drinkability: I could have like 3 on a hot summer day.

Value: At $7.00 for a six pack, this is a good choice for a beach beer down here in the Sunshine State.

Pours a light golden with lots of carbonation bubbles. There's a 2-finger white head that quickly dissipates. Some lacing.

The smell is mainly yeast, wheat, lime, and slight hops. The taste reminds me of Tequiza with its kind of cheap, artificial lime flavor. There are also flavors of yeast, sour hops & a hint of sweet mandarin oranges. Nasty sour aftertaste. The mouthfeel is crisp but too acidic (no doubt from the artificial lime).

This could be refreshing on a really hot day. However, there are too many good Wits out there that don't have the cheap lime additive to choose this.

Extra from bkrefetz - served in a weizen glass. A witbier with key lime already in it. I do like key limes, but this sounds suspicious.

A - Pretty good looking - a pillowy white two fingers of foam with excellent retention and a few spots of lace. Hazy golden straw/peach-flesh color with a letter more intensity near the top of the glass.

S - Belgian yeast, wheat, some light key lime, spice, a touch of banana. It's pretty decent.

T - I don't dig the taste quite as much - pretty simplistic, with malted wheat, a touch of spice and key lime, and not much else. There's a odd funky aftertaste.

M - Some carbonation burn on the upper lip, but doesn't feel overly bloaty. Soft medium-light body and a slightly sticky finish. Pretty refreshing.

D - I could pound brews like this, but why bother when there is much better stuff to be had?

Interesting and funky, Southernmost Wheat is half Belgian witbier and half Tequiza or Miller Chill. I get chalky Belgian yeast and clear notes of coriander, but also a spritz of sharp lime that cuts through it. It even looks a bit greenish in the glass. Somehow it just doesn't come together though. The yeast character fights the flavor of the lime. If it was less yeast-influenced it might work, but as it is, it's quite jagged. It neither smells good nor tastes good. And to be honest, I can't even imagine swigging this one ice cold on a hot summer day.

12 oz. brown bottle - bought as a single recommended to me by store owner

A - Cloudy straw yellow color with a 1 finger thick bright white head that quickly dissipates to small foam on top and around glass

S - soft lime aroma, corriander, citrus, wheaty aroma, spiciness

T - Beligian spice with citrus lime and orange peel taste pretty good to me. Its very light on the hops (bottle says it has cascade and first gold hops)

M&D - very light body and light mouthfeel makes it very drinkable and very refreshing. I thought it was a pretty good Witbier and i was a little shocked that this one tasted as well as it did.

I had this on at Savannah's in St. Petersburg. This is an interesting resturant with a very good beer list.

12 oz bottle with a kind of eerie green label. Poured into a pint glass, the beer is a hazy light gold with a quickly collapsing white head.

Nice citrus nose with spice.

The beer has hints of lime and orange with coriander (just like the label said). It is light and was refreshing on this 90-degree day.

Mouth us crisp but a bit thin. I had a couple but the citrus started to become a bit cloying.

Nose is lime, wheat and citrus

Taste is wheat, citrus & lime

Mouth feel is light, but it's a wheat beer.

Very drinkable wheat beerr, especially on a hot summer day.

A very nice wheat beer with a lime twist

A 2.5 - light golden straw color with a hint of light green? small head gone quick, minor lacing. noticeable carbonation. not as cloudy as most witbiers. very clean and clear in color.
S 3.5 - mellow fresh lime and citrus notes
T 4.0 - mellow fresh lime and citrus notes on a very mild and thin wheat base
MF 2.5 - thin. watery. high carbonation.
D 3.0 - okay not bad, just not a good example of a witbier. The lime twist is a good surprise for a hot day if you want a lighter beer. Very clean, crisp, crsip witbier.

Reviewed 6/16/2008 (Draft @ Sunset Pier, Key West, FL):

Pours an orange cloudy colored body, with some creamy white colored head, lasting. Has a lemony, and wheaty aroma. Spicy. Belgiany. Very light taste, some hops Some spiciness, tastiness. Kinda weak, but okay. Not okay as it really warms up, more watery and loses its taste.

Bottle sampled at the brewery. Sour wheat aroma. Cloudy yellow with some foam. Heavy carbonation and demonstrated in the bubbles. Corriander, orange peel, and infused lime taste. Too many weak tastes thrown together. Thin mouthfeel.Redkneck beer for a hot drunk afternoon.

I purchased this beer at a Total Wine shop in Fort Myers, Florida.

Appearance: Poured a pale copper color with a small, thick head.

Smell: Subtle fruit smell with minimal hops aroma.

Taste: Slight hops and mildly sweet. Also can taste the yeast. Goes very well with fish.

Mouthfeel: Full without being too thick.

Drinkability: Very subtle alcohol with a full taste makes this a great drinking beer.

Got this one from Sebletije, cheers Seb!

Pours a semi-hazed bronze with a pinky of fast falling pearl white head. Zero head retention or lacing

S: White pepper & lemon

T: White pepper, coriander, & grainy bread. A bit of phenolic profile, white grapes & lemons as this warms. Finishes with a bit of apple peel & juicy fruit

MF: Light/medium body with low carbonation, a bit wet

Drinks pretty good, just not a depth of flavor to hold your interest, but a good thirst quencher & good shot at the style

Poured a hazy light gold color into my Sam Adams beer glass. The pour produces about a half a finger of white head. Lots of little carbonation bubbles and a good bit of lacing. Pretty good head retention.

Smells like citrus fruit and grains.

Tastes a lot like it smells. Pretty refreshing drink, but the finish isn't as crisp and clean as I like from a witbier.

Well carbonated with a light body, mouthfeel is a little thin.

Easy to drink and refreshing. It's 79 degrees outside and I've been doing some work in the yard and this beer fit the conditions.

GF Brought this back from a cruise.

A: Very cloudy golden white color? with a half finger of head that quickly dissipated. Almost no lacing.

S: The first thing that hits you is the lime juice. Behind that coriander and some hints of citrus. Big wheat smell as well.

T: Lime up front then the wheat with the spices thrown in. The lime juice (while real) does dominate this beer.

M: light body. Quite refreshing.

D: Look key west is the 6th circle of hell beer wise. That being said in that context this isnt that bad. The lime juice in a wit is different. Too bad it is 35 degrees out right now. For the dead of summer you could drink these all day.
