Sunshine State Florida Lager pours a clear copper color, with a small lacing head. Very nice warm crisp malty aroma. Flavor is warm and crisp, with a nice sweet malty flavor. Good body and feel. Overall, a very nice crisp lager, not overpowering, with good sweet flavors.

Pours a clear medium amber color.
Smell is mild, mostly malt and citrus.
Taste is well balanced with toasted caramel and citrus.

FLORIDA FLORIDA LAGER 5/8/16

Another from the most recent shipment from a beer club. We do not get this prewery's products up my way.

a: Clear amber with a half finger thick white head which receded to nearly nada.

s: Mild bready malt

t: Mild Belgian yeast light fruit notes over a medium bready malt base. Dry finish.

m; Medium with good body and carbonation tingle.

o: A good dinner brew and a pretty substantial-feeling sipper. Perhaps because of the phenomenal success of Cigar City, this brewery tends to be underrespected in its home state IMO. The Florida Swamp Apes I have had were excellent as well.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle, no #freshbeer date.

Chilled haze on a honey colored body. Initial 2-3 finger head settles to a fat ring with pock marks and mild lacing. Aroma is of nutty malt mixed with grainy cereal. Flavor is much the same. Honest, clean with no flaws. Came expecting not much but it's alright.

Sometimes I'm just in the mood for easy - this lager was definitely easy...

Right out of the bottle, this lager poured the classic golden hued liquid everyone associates with beer. It did have good foam and lacing at first, but not down the glass. The smell was wheaty, bready, and light - to go with a mouthfeel that followed as light-bodied as well. A bit subdued when it came to taste but still a decent lager to pound on a hot summer's weekend, or even on during a not-so-cold Florida winter.

Poured from bottle into pint glass

Appearance – Pours a golden color with a one finger white head. The head fades moderately fast to leave a lighter level of lacing.

Smell – The smell is quite heavy of a bready and corny aroma. While these smells are the main aroma there is a lighter sweet smell of caramel mixed within.

Taste – The taste begins with a bready and caramel flavor. As the taste moves forward the sweetness increases some with the caramel getting stronger as well as some flavors of corn coming to the tongue. In the end the sweetness fades some, leaving a slightly drier and bready flavor on the tongue.

Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is rather moderate in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is just slightly above average. The characteristics of the beer are really quite nice for the style, making it very drinkable but yet still allowing the malty flavors to shine through.

Overall – A pretty tasty lager. Very drinkable and a nice blend between sweet and malty. Not bad.
