Very dark brown, almost black color leaving a tan, foamy head with nice lacing when poured.

It has an initial smokey taste that quickly evolves into a chocolate/coffee blend that lingers on the sides of the tongue.

A smooth, heavier taste without the heavier feel. Very light carbonation.

The kind of beer you can drink all night.

I've had porters in nearly every state and a few provinces in North America, including one that just one an award in Tucson, AZ. Mayflower Porter is the best I've had in many years of drinking porters. You won't go wrong with this one.

Hopefully Mayflower can work on expanding its distribution as only a few places in my area carry it. It was recommended by a bartender at Mondo's in Middletown when I asked for a dark beer. She served up a winner!

A: Dark brown body with a creamy coffee-colored frothy head.

S: Chocolate and coffee.

T: Not carbonated. Very smooth. Taste of chocolate and coffee but more coffee than chocolate.

M: Very mild aftertaste.

O: Great beer. Would recommend to someone looking to start a porter beer journey. This is definitely on the top of my porter list.

A- Inch tall light brown head on a dark brown body. Cap and collar throughout, leaving splotchy lacing.

S- Whiffs of cocoa powder, deep coffee.

T- More roastiness/coffee notes than chocolate in the taste. Has a lingering roasty/burnt taste that I'm not sure how to feel about.

M- Smooth, lower carbonation. Medium/medium-thick body for it's ABV. Really enjoy how this drinks.

D/O- Highly drinkable although the plus-roastiness may lead to palate fatigue after a few. Thanks for this "Top 50 English Porter" @mj0126 !
