Stumbled upon this on, by chance, and picked it up. Pours fairly cloudy with a sizeable head. Decent flavor profile. Oddly though, there seems to be a bit of a burn on it? Which seems weird since I know it can't be the alcohol on it. A real easy drinker that doesn't get abrasive or out there.

Semi Cloudy golden orange hue with a thicket of white head, I've never seen this canned session pale ale collaboration from Buckeye and Rivertowne before. Pleasant citrus notes with a solid core of biscuit malts. Citrus pith, crushed aspirin, mild fruitiness very bitter pale ale, sessionable with the alcohol level, but so bitter for a canned beer out of Pittsburgh. Mouthfeel is lighter bodied bitterness just soaks into your teeth, bitter waves of hops between each sip almost like chewing on the orange peel bitter. Overall I'm glad they used hops but there's got to be more balance next go around with a session pale ale.

On tap at Fatheads Southside, surprisingly light amber in color, dead clear, served in a standard pint glass (actually not really a standard pint, but the nice lady behind the bar calls it that).
Extremely drinkable IPA, nice grapefruit nose on it, but really not overly hopped. Only a bit of cereal aftertaste.
About a 1/2" head when fresh poured and it remains for a while in the glass. Thins out slowly. Alcohol content low means that the good taste sticks around and doesn't get killed off.

Pours a light clear straw color with a filmy white head. Aroma is stanky like dank herb, green tea leaves and faint grapefruit like citrus. This has a nice bright hop profile and its apparent from the nose this will be a good pale.
In the taste, herbal bitterness, grapefruit and mango notes. A bit grassy and herbal as well as citrusy and semitropical notes. Overall, quite tasty.

12oz can poured into a pint glass
A: Dark yellow with an orange tint, slightly hazy, with a two-finger slightly frothy head
S: Pleasant with hops up front and bread dough underneath, but lacks intensity
T: A nice balance of hops and malt. Has a bit of wheat to it which I like. Herbal notes towards the end makes the finish fairly bitter
M: Medium-bodied, dry, bitter
O: I first tried this straight from the can and liked it better than when pouring it into a glass for this review

APPEARANCE: Hazy, straw colored, yellow with a small off-white head that fades relatively quickly. A few wisps are left on top with little lacing.

SMELL: I'm surprised to see a few reviews talking about the lack of intensity in the aroma with this beer, because mine is quite nice and intense. Floral notes provide the end caps for a big, citrus and bready smell. A faint hint of tropical fruit lurks beneath.

TASTE: Bright citrus flavors immediately greet the palate with a pale breadiness following it up. A touch of tropical fruit dances around the palate as well, which a grassy and slightly piney bitterness takes over from the middle to the end.

MOUTHFEEL: The carbonation only provides a light tickle to a light bodied beer. A hint of sweet comes in to balance, this mostly dry offering.

OVERALL: I'm pretty impressed with this Session Pale. There are a ton of Session IPAs out there right now that are falling short, but this stands alongside a few of the truly tasty ones that are helping to bring a more European approach to our aggressively flavored beers here in the U.S.

Can > Pint Glass

A - Cloudy yellow with a finger of white fizzy head, nice wall of tightly packed lacing.
S - There's almost no aroma, a little grassy, and grainy.
T - Grassy, biscuit, lemon candy, a light spice.
M - Crisp and balanced, but just ok.
O - Gets the job done, but lacks in flavor and definitely aroma.
