Sample served from a growler at a Sharp Edge Creekhouse tasting.

Appearance: Attractive brown/red, somewhat hazy. Medium, creamy head.

Smell: Lots of honey sweetness, no detectable hops. Just the right amount of sweetness, not overpowering.

Taste: The honey is again strong, but there are some other malty notes like caramel with a mild roasty background. Really nice complexity, but still smooth.

Mouthfeel: This is the lowpoint of the beer. A bit lighter in the mouth than I expected.

Drinkability: Very smooth and silky finish. Nice drinkability.

I had a taste of this and quickly knew I wanted to get a growler of it.

Pours a dark brown that is clear. Nice head. Nose is earthy. Flavor is very interesting. Definite sweet tone. Is there really honey in this? I wouldn't be surprised. Nice smooth sweet tone mixed with a defined malty and earthy tone. Just seems to be a pretty firm balance between the sweet honey tones and brown ale tones, with things leaning a wee bit more towards the honey and sweet side. Extremely smooth feel. Not very firm carbonation really brings itself forward to combine with the liquid feel to give a really nice soothing touch on the tongue. Easy to drink, but the higher sweet tone might turn some people off. I thought it an excellent beer, though and I hope it is one that stays on the list for a while.
