Great store, very helpful proprietor.

It was my first time making a lager, and the fermentation never started. It was a Saturday and my local place was closed (as it frequently is). I was worried for my brew, but Doug the owner was helpful and reassuring. I had to drive two hours from Columbus to get there, and when I called, he went so far as to look in the parking lot to see if there were any people from Columbus in the store at the time, to cut my drive time down. He a ton of different lager strains, even though he apologized for being low on them. He seemed to be well stocked for anything you might need when making beer or wine, even. Great store, great experience, and my beer turned out great too.

If you're a serious homebrewer, this is the place to buy your supplies.

The owner is knowledgeable and extremely helpful. He treats every customer like family. And is more focused on you having an enjoyable homebrewing experience, first and foremost.

This place has the best selection of specialty grains, yeasts and equipment you'll ever need.

Hop City is about 5 or 6 miles from my house. But I drive 3 times as far to buy my supplies at Just Brew It and it's worth it.

If you haven't been, go. You'll keep coming back.

For my job, I cover everything south of 20 and west of 75 in Metro Atlanta. So, I drove by this place several times before I just couldn't stand it anymore. I had dealt with the brewing shop in Athens when in school, but had let homebrewing fall to the wayside the past few years. Doug has helped develop my passion for the art.

Doug, aside from being extremely knowledgeable about brewing, is so passionate; you can't help but get sucked in. In addition to his vast knowledge, he will openly admit if he doesn't know something, further increasing his credibility.

His pricing and selection are hard to beat, especially to the all-grain brewer (I'm making the switch this year!). I love that he allows patrons to "build" their recipes themselves. He even labels grains with multiple industry names to make that task easier to the novice.

Overall, the store has a great selection as well as a great owner - a fine place for the novice to the experienced to shop.

As a homebrewer for the last 6 years in the Macon area, it has been difficult to find a place within a short drive to find all the ingredients/equipment needed for my batches. I sometimes end up ordering from places like Northern Brewer, but the shipping is expensive and lengthy. I’ve driven up to the Atlanta area many times trying out the various homebrew shops. (some no longer in existence, aka Marietta Homebrew) Finally I found this store! The new owner has transformed this place from a second rate shop into a first rate homebrew heaven! The owner, Doug Kimpel, is very knowledgeable about all aspects of brewing and will bend-over-backward to help you. They have a great selection of yeast, grains, equipment, etc. that you could want. He even makes all-grain brewing towers. If you live within the Atlanta area, this is the only place you need to go!
