Poured on-tap at Charlie and Jake's, this beer was served in a pint glass. The beer is a deep, rich auburn-brown coloring with no head. The nose is VERY rich and sweet with nut and hazelnut characteristics. Smells like a jar of Nutella. The body is slightly watery, but the flavors are great. Again, nutty, almost roasted, with hazelnut and coffee balancing flavors. The aftertaste is darkly sweet and slightly bitter together. Dry finish. Very tasty.

A deep reddish brown beer with a minimal head thad fades quickly. The aroma is most likely bad due to the pre chilled glass or my half stuffed nose. I get a big chalkiness and chocolate malt aroma. The flavor is most impressive about this beer. It has some crystal malts and some dark malts that give it a nice complex flavor. Hop flavor is muted true to the english style. The mouthfeel is medium to thick and it is pretty smooth. Overall a great microbrew brown.

Brown Bottom Ale was served in a glass mug, the aroma was somewhat nutty and definitely some chocolate malt. Tastewise, this is pretty quaffable, chocolate malt stood out, as did a nutty taste, with a strong hop character balancing things out. Enjoyable.

Deep opaque brown color, with a rich, creamy full tan head. Nice bubbles popping over the top. Sweet chocolate, nutty smell and taste. Noticable hop bite and sweet nutty finish. Roasted barley and chocolate tastes linger, but not in a bad way. Medium bodied, a touch sweet, to drink several, but a very good brown ale. Their best offering, IMO.
