I went by this Spec because it was reasonable close to the hotel that I was staying in. The exterior looks just like any other Specs, nothing fancy or run down. The selection inside was OK; the usual local Texas stuff, US Micros, imports and Belgians. I did not find anything new or special. So I did not get anything. I did not have an employee ask if I needed help with anything till I was walking past the counter on my way out of the store. If you are looking for something different and hard to find in Texas of or the Houston area, I would not recommend going to this location.

I don't think there are more beers available here, but there is a different selection than at the Kingwood location were I live. What I like is that I can get Real Ale Pale Rye Ale in six packs (as well as the other Real Ale offerings ). In Kingwood, I can only get the mixed sixer and brown ale. Several Great Divide beers that are not available in Kingwood. It seems there are much more Belgian style beers as well. Several Ommegang beers and Konings Hoeven.

This place is not without its faults though. The service is just plain bad. I have never been asked if I need any help in getting anything. When I try to track someone down, they act like I am a huge inconvenience, and they are pretty uniformed anyway. One time I bought a sixer of Sierra Nevada Bigfoot. It turned out to be the stout just in the Bigfoot sixer. The same thing happened with some New Belgium beers as well. I never buy anything without double checking that I am getting what I actually want now because they seem to like to mix some odds in ends to some six packs. Not that that is bad, but it is a shock when I think I am getting a barleywine, but actually get a stout.

Overall, they have some good beers here but don't expect to much help from the uninformed staff.
