Love this beer. Best on tap at the brewery in Downtown Ipswich. Excellent example of the classic West Coast Style! Strong bitterness with strong pine and grapefruit notes.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a clear golden amber color with a one finger head of puffy white foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading over time and leaving a decent sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a grapefruit hop aroma mixed with some light cracker and bready smells as well as notes of tangerine and mango. Other aromas of a light caramel and a touch of grass are in there as well, rounding out the smell rather nicely.
Taste – The taste begins with a crisp cracker and bready malt flavor that is paired with some caramel and tangerine and a whole lot of grapefruit hop. While other hop flavors are present, such as pine and a light floral hop, the grapefruit is predominant, dominating the flavor profile. As the taste advances some light lemon joins in, and with a bit of drying out of the taste, one is left with a citrus heavy hopped and crisp taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light and crisp with a moderate carbonation level. For the style and the tastes, the feel is rather well done, making for a nice crisp sipper.
Overall – A nice clean tasting IPA overall. Rather refreshing and flavorful.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of the "Classic" four sample flight. It poured a clear copper with thick white head that is leaving some nice lace. The scent had wonderful bitter citrus and pine resin hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi bitter citrus fruit and pine presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Poured from a crowler into a Willi pint glass.
Pours a clear amber gold color with 3 solid fingers of fluffy off-white head. The head hangs around for a few decades, leaving some sticky cobwebs of lacing before finally settling into a brick of foam. Might just be from the crowler pour but it's ridiculous.
The aroma brings notes of lemon zest and grapefruit, followed by a hefty dose of caramel and cracker malt, finished off by notes of grass and spicy pine.
The flavor is a solid pine bomb, with notes of grapefruit, lemon, and orange. There's a good amount of doughy malt and caramel before another wave of earthy pine on the finish.
The feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Nicely crisp and exceptionally dry on the finish. The bitterness lingers after every sip.
Overall, this is a great IPA that is a real nice change of pace from the onslaught of hazy NEIPA's. It doesn't quite hit that "Lupulin Mouthgasm" that the absolute best West Coast IPA's bring but it's still wonderfully bitter and full of bready malt balance.

An easy pour from a 12-oz. can is all it takes for a fat finger of white soapy/creamy foam with average retention and rings of lace. Yellow-gold color with a hint of copper.
Citrus and herbal hops greet the nose with faint pine, toasted pale malt in the background.
Malt shines during the semi-dry and boldy hopped taste. The citrus is broken into orange and lemon, the pine taste is bigger than the smell with some resin. Dry under-ripe grape and slightly sour apple juice add more flavor yet this beer is by no means juicy. The finish is long with a big rise in hop bitterness that lingers on during the aftertaste.
Medium-light body, above average carbonation. Very hoppy yet not a palate wrecker.
A little more juice than most West Coast IPA's, it is made in New England.

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has little to no visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high white head that died down but never completely faded away, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of grapefruit and piney hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the piney hops stand out in particular along with underlying notes of caramel hops. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. The crispness seems to become stronger as the beer warms up.
O: This IPA has a nice crisp bite to it, especially as the beer begins to warm up. It has a high degree of drinkability.

12 oz. bottle from beer club shipment. Poured into Behind the Veil glass.
L: Clear golden with visible carbonation bubbles. 2F head with Ok retention, some lacing, and a white fluffy cap.
S: Ripe grapefruit, orange, lemon and lime peels. Yeasty and cracker malts.
T: More or less the same as nose. Not super-fresh, but still good. Not very hop-forward, solid malt backbone. Slightly bitter finish.
F: Light to medium body, moderate carbonation. Construction and balance are fine. Drinks well. Bitterness is a bit lingering rather than drying.
O: OK Western-style IPA.
