Poured brown with red and orange hues when held up to the light. The head was big, off-white, fluffy and hung around across the top of a very long time. The smell was of smoked dark malts, some bitter hops, and a pinch of nuttiness. The taste up front was smooth and sweet, like brown sugar, and then ended up with ground-up, roasted malts and some grimey bitter hops (the sweetness slightly lingered on). It left a dry mouthfeel, but unfortunately, the beer was a little thinner and less carbonated than I would have liked. It was drinkable enough, a beer that I enjoyed sipping for a little while, but there are plenty of English Brown Ales that I like more.

Poured into a clear mug.
The appearance was a nice looking sturdy brown almost dark in color with a nice looking foamy white clingy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Slight lace ran here and there.
The aroma had a nice balanced sweet caramel to bready and nutty maltiness, light toast and then some earthiness slightly at the end.
The flavor leaned into the sweetness nicely arranging a nice aftertaste of the nuts, caramel and toast.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fine sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine, somewhat low, though. ABV felt on par with a nice smooth nutty finish.
Overall, pretty nice as an English nut brown ale that I would come back to.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Hazy brown with auburn highlights and a nice beige head. The foam lowers to a thin but consistent layer for the entirety of the drink. Moderate lacing.

Smells of roasted barley malts and nuts and little yeast.

Taste is bready and nutty with a nice finish. A good lingering aftertaste of the same nut and bread flavors. Very homey.

Medium bodied.

A good solid brown ale. The nut flavors really open up as it warms to room temperature, and they separate this ale from some other browns. Next time I think I will try to serve it a bit warmer.

Cheers!
