750ml corked/caged bottle served in a tulip. I don't see a date on it. Not sure how long it's been hanging out in my fridge. This is the first time I remember seeing a beer nearly push its cork out after the cage was removed. This listing shows it as 8% ABV, but my bottle lists it as 10.0%.

Pours a pretty reddish-brown with a large head (surprise!) and lots of fine, active carbonation. Head is noisy and seems to be fading moderately quickly, but continually getting refreshed with the carbonation. Smell is yeasty belgian, slight hint of lemon, kind of doughy. Definitely some spicy/funky stuff going on.

Taste is sour/funk, a hint of cherry, maybe more than a hint. Very dry, a little woody.

Mouthfeel is dry, light, very effervescent. Overall, interesting and good beer.

Tried aging this one with lousy results: Appearance: amber/brown with a nice tan head that disappears quickly. its hazy and looks more like a Belgian Dubbel would than a saison. Aroma: the expected plums and raisins and brown sugars and yeasty fruityness but combined with wet cardboard, horse blanket oxidation. Palate: its has oily texture, medium body and moderate carbonation. Taste: carries from aromas. No bitterness from hops. Honey-like sweetness is to the point of harshness. Dark fruits and brown sugar. Barnyardy off-flavors are all over along with soy saucy umami thing going on. Finishes with alcohol warming and lasting harsh sweet flavors

2013 bottle served cold in a wine glass.

Appearance: dark amber with a fluffy white head. The bottle had a significant amount of sediment. The beer was cloudy.

Nose: caramel sweetness, malty backbone, Noble hops, spicy, a bit funky

Taste: follows the nose but with a tart beginning and a nice sweet finish that lingers. Mildly funky and the tart finish is nice.

Overall: this is fantastic. I'm really loving the hybrid between a Dubbel and a saison. Funk leads to malty sweetness to spicy complexity to a delicious beer. Wildly affordable too at $12 for a 750ml.

L: Lectio Divina pours a hazy amber with a cream colored one to two finger head that quickly dissipates.
S: Caramel sugars and over ripe fruit.
T: Lectio Divina has a pleasant fruitiness in the aroma and taste that balances well with the alcohol and the malt. There is a hint of tart cidery or winey character that complements the touch of toffee taste.
F: Medium body to a little less with above average carbonation.
O: This is an interesting cross between a dubbel and a saison that works.

10% ABV version as part of a beer club. Poured from a cork and cage into a snifter, this one is a gusher. The cork pushed itself right out of the bottle once the cage was off, hands free. Pours with a tall, chunky, bubbly, off-white head atop a hazy, muddled, copper coloring. Aromas of funky esters engulf your nostrils, with an underlying sugary caramel base, toffee sweetness, subtle rich fruit sweetness of berries and citrus, dried fruit notes of raisins and apricots, hints of basil and pepper, and some banana bread notes. Flavors are much more tart and lively, with a blast of citrus tart and sweet forward, with a solid undertone of candi sugar. Jesus, this might make me diabetic, but it is tasty. Lots of herbal accents throughout, with orange rind, lemon zest, pepper, basil, grass, and dandelion. There is a rich and bready backbone to support all of this, as well as some funky and slightly sour notes throughout. The body is robust, but remains light with the carbonation, and the citrus notes provide a dryness that keeps this drinkable. The aftertaste is a tangy blend of citrus notes, with a tart and dry linger into the smooth, slick finish. Some funk lingers around after each sip, too. Solid brew!

Bottle. Interesting label art. Pours cloudy and dark yellow. White, thick head. Smell is interesting for sure. Funk and hints of tartness with a still-standing Belgian backbone. Sweet, spicy, funky, fruity, tart. The flavor was not as exciting but it was still pleasing. Less funky and tart. Reverts back to its basic Belgian blueprints. Phenols, pale fruits, spice, lighter funk and barn with just a tickle of tartness. Medium bodied. Slight creaminess. Softer bubbles. I actually liked this one more than my review would indicate. Interesting.

Poured a very turbid but vibrant orange hue topped off by a white froth that quickly dwindled to a ring leaving scant lace. Reminds me of Tang instant drink which I have not had or seen in many years.

Nose it mostly sweet and citrus fruits - apple, orange, peach, lime. A little bread dough as well.

Flavors mirror the aroma. Mostly that of apples, peaches, limes, and bisquit dough.

Slick, oily, medium body with a milder variety of carbonation.

Enjoyable overall. Would be interested in other beers from Saint Somewhere.

Just average saison if not slightly below due to taste. Very hard to finish a full pour
