12oz bottle served in shaker pint.
A: Two fingers of fluffy head from an aggressive pour. Retention is below average as the head quickly dwindles to a small cap. Beer is a hazy luminous golden yellow. Orange-ish in some lights.
S: Yeasty, clove-like scent up front. Juicy citrus and a little banana. Hints of solvent.
T: Orange marmalade. Just slightly tart. Yeasty and bready with some estery sweetness. Slight, but welcome hop bitterness in the finish. A bit spicy in the aftertaste.
M: Prickly carbonation leads to a rather full feel.
D: Not bad. I could see myself having a couple of these in a sitting.
This beer was better than expected. It is kind of a toss up as to what style this one falls under. Whatever the case it was interesting enough to hold my attention. Just about everthing I've had from this brewery has been solid, nothing more. Give it a try if you have the opportunity.

Interesting take on what appears to be a Belgian style at the core. The addition of the lemongrass and ginger adjuncts add unique flavoring and appearance( chunks of ginger dancing in the carbonation!). definitely a different brew, and would probably go well with some Asian cuisine...

I like spiced and spicy things, and had some high hopes for Fleur de Lehigh from Philadelphia Brewing. Unfortunately, my hopes were dashed pretty soundly. Poured with a nice deep gold color, but then I realized that this unfiltered beer was a bit clumpy. As in crud in the bottom of the glass, with floaters as well. It smelled good at the pour, with some nutmeg and clove but the taste was disappointing. Few of the spice flavors come out in the taste, it's pretty thin, and doesn't have a full, rounded beer taste, either.

This is supposedly a Belgian Pale (Golden) Ale but some of the spices used made it taste nothing like one. More specifically, the ginger-lemongrass combo was a bit overwhelming and off-putting. No head whatsoever and a murky brown color that was hardly inviting.

L: Amber and cloudy at the top, more light at the bottom. No head, no lace.
S: Licorice, banana, orange. Spicy.
F: Little foam, slight burn at the end. Pepper aftertaste.
T: First impression is medicinal. Almost like I'm drinking cough medicine or some sort of classic health tonic. It starts like a florist. Peppery fruit dominates. Maybe orange. No banana. The more I tried it I found myself struggling for other things to say. The pepper at the end actually leaves a slight burning in my mouth.
O: One of the bottles was damaged slightly at the top. I opened it and didn't hear a whoosh and saw the dinged glass. It was a drain pour. In a way, maybe I should be glad there's one less of these I didn't consume. From the bottle, it's drinkable. From the glass, not so much.

My favorite! So sad it's only seasonal.
