Undated 12oz bottle poured into 14oz teku. Poured a medium orange color with an inch of dark white head that had good retention, but zero lacing.

Some semi-sweet malt in the nose, along with some pine, and a hint of citrus.

Pretty similar on the tongue; sweet malt, subdued hops.

The body was smooth and even, had a bit of citrus kick on the end, and a semi-dry finish.

Overall, an average IPA. Not worth seeking out, but worth a shot if you see it.

The strong piny aroma and bright amber color invited me. The somewhat heavy handed finish was more than I would have preferred. However, overall a fine beverage!

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, toasted biscuit, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and minimal lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, sticky/resinous/rindy, and fairly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 6.7%. Overall this is a delicious IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink; despite the aggressively bitter/resinous/drying finish. Great Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Simcoe profile. Very juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; nice solid bready malt backbone, with no residual sweetness from crisp resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on classic tasting West Coast style example.

Clear yellow with a soft, creamy white collar leaving some strands of lace.

I'm getting a weird, aerated rug smell with some pine and citrus on the palate, via a crisp, light, semi-wet feel.

Not a fan. There is such a rich tapestry of tough competition in California, especially in regards to hoppy ales, how does this even fly?

Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with an odd looking head; the bubbles are big and actually unappetizing in appearance, dissipating like a soda. Smell and flavor are of slightly grassy mango and a hint of hop bitterness. Not super inspiring. Mouthfeel is decent. An okay IPA.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a Beer mug because i was in that kind of mood...
Aroma:Golden orange color with medium white head slight haze and decent retention and lacing.
Smell: More floral then aything else with a hint of citrus.
Taste: like the smell but better with more citrus and orange notes as well as decent hoppiness.
Mouthfeel: A little watery but definitley some body.
Overall: While not as fresh as the first time I had it, the nose gave it away upfront, i would still say this is a nice decent IPA. Living in the Emerald Triangle, and loving IPAs, may make my opinion a bit biased but i still say this is solid for the style. Once again it was much better fresh though!

Pale auburn pour with thick white foam; good lace and retention. Citrus and pine nose. Earthy hop flavor with citrus and pine on backend. Medium mouthfeel; sticky hop resin tongue coating. Very good - the malt foundation holds up well with the hop flavors on top.

Nigh impossible-to-find bottling date reveals its age at 09/14/14

Appearance - Pours slightly hazy and light golden orange in color with an off-white, near two finger width head. Fair retention, revealing a broken layer of suds across the top with a fair build-up along the edges.

Smell - Dank. Slightly skunky. Hints of caramel and cardboard.

Taste - Deadened hop flavor that hints at pine, spice bite and twang of citrus. Malts are slighty toasted and biscuity with hints of caramel. Stale cardboard mid-taste. Slightly peppery with traces of pith in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Medium in body with low to moderate carbonation. It's smooth, in the least.

Overall - As a 9 month old IPA, I was debating whether or not to review this, but when struggling to find the bottling date for a second time to confirm (held to a light at a 45-degree angle and spun very slowly for 2 minutes before rediscovering what might be the smallest font possible), it became apparent that this brewery may just hide their bottling dates for a reason. Not to say I won't eventually find a >3 month bottle to do a more appropriate review, but I'm expecting an average IPA even when fresh.

Pours a hazy dark golden-orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Thin swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus zest, grapefruit juice, and earthy hop aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest, grapefruit juice, and tropical fruit flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a nice mix of different hop qualities all around.

Serving type: bottle.

A: clear orange with a dense, white head with decent retention and lacing.
S&T: Aroma too modest.. citrus with grapefruit, orange, peach and mango on a grainy malt base with chalky, mineral water profile.
F: Food beer, but too thin for me.

Good maybe slightly above average ipa. Citrus, tropical, a little dank dominate the flavor profile. Light pale malt sweetness that goes with the hop flavors, not too bitter. A bit hazy which I don't mind at all. Not too carbonated which I thought worked very well. Would happily drink again.

Pours amber with a large head.
Nose shows restrained herbal, peppery and floral hops. Some light sweet clean malt.
Piny, grapefruity hops as flavours. Some soft malt again.

Pours an slightly cloudy golden color with orange hues. Dense and thick head. Has a tiny orange/mango citric aroma mixed with a watery alcohol overtones. A rush of bitterness up front but doesn't last long and turns into a light citrus flavor. Some secondary bitterness lingers. A slick mouthfeel.

Overall a decent ipa. Nothing spectacular. Definitely doesn't fall anywhere near my group of first choices.

Bottled early May. $5 and change.

A clear orange with a dense, white head with excellent retention and lacing, this looks nice in my custom Talenti pint glass. The nose, OTOH, is disappointing. Moderate citrus with grapefruit, orange, some peach and mango, this beer, while moderately aromatic, lacks in oomph. Add in a doughy, grainy malt character, a chalky and mineraly water profile and you've got something that's rather disjointed. Of the hops listed, Chinook and Simcoe dominate. The palate is similar. Opening with a sof bitterness and moderate hop flavor consisting of fruit, specifically grapefruit, oranges, some stone fruit and some tropical fruit, the opening salvo is tasty. The mid palate is where it falls apart with a watery and doughy malt character distracting from the pleasant hop flavor. Drying on the finish with a mild bitterness, there's a chalky character that lingers on into the finish. Medium light in body and moderately carbonated, this feels decent on the palate. Meh.

This is a very nice IPA from Eel River Brewing. The Emerald Triangle is a pretty smooth pour, showing a nice gold amber releasing a fresh citrus hop aroma.

The taste of the Emerald Triangle is friendly, balanced and easy to drink. There is a little of the hop bitterness in the middle of the sip, but it surrounded by a lot of grapefruit taste. This beer is seasoned with a lot of hops and that is the dominant component.

There is a light lingering aftertaste that can be swept away with more beer.
