IPAs were made for hot summer Sunday afternoons when you need a thirst-quenching ale with a hoppy kick. I was driving down from the mountains (70sF), pulled over to their alehouse (90F) and ordered what turned to be a 12-oz draft (because of the 8% ABV). It had the classic citrus fruit-forward bite of an Imperial. Also, it had nice drinkability. Last sip was as good as the first. I'd pullover and order one again - paired it with deep-fried pickles that were also well crafted.

16oz can dated 3/7/18 poured into a tulip
A: Crystal clear light orange/dark yellow with a one-finger head
S: Resin, earth, hints of pine/citrus
T: Mostly hop oil/resin, nice and bitter/hoppy but lacks the freshness seen in many DIPAs.
M: Medium-bodied, bitter
O: Tasty; a bit more citrus would take this from good to great

Bottle from Bottle Barn. Light golden pour with skin of head. Aroma is light pine hoppiness. Taste takes over with a much more pronounced hop presence, bitter and sharp. Grains and malts lie underneath, but the piney hops lead the way. Bitterness lingers, actually quite stinging. Not the bitterest I've had, but up there.

Impressive orange appearance, professional degree of clarity to it. formed 3/4" white head, good retention. Solid appearance here. Aroma can be pretty inconsistent. Draft always has been better than bottle. When its good, its all that danky hops, centennial seems big. The Summit hop has fallen out of favor I think, I don't really pick it up in this one anymore. For shame.
Taste also had me wondering the same question. They took a unique beer and ramped it down. Now this is more like any other big dipa with a lot of caramel and c hops. Still very bitter. I dunno, I'll order it on tap again, but wouldn't bang a bottle of this, inconvenient 22oz format, excessively priced because of that.

Pours a hazy glowing amber color. Has a deep malty aroma. The flavor is malt forward. Some bitter hops on the back end but for the most part this is a malt bomb of an IPA. Leaves an ok aftertaste. Overall this isn't bad but not my favorite.

On-tap at Rogue Ales Public House, San Francisco, CA
A: The beer is clear yellowish amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high creamy light tan head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and some lacing running down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of dank pine are present in the nose along with some notes of citrusy hops.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has flavors of dank pine along with hints of orange and grapefruit citrus. There is a light amount of bitterness. Underlying hints of malts are also perceptible along with some bits of alcohol.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little creamy and smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very pleasant on nitro—this lends an interesting mouthfeel.
Serving type: nitro-tap

Not much to say about this beer,So not going to break it down. It's a pretty straight forward classic Dipa.
Pine citrus smell nothing overly amazing or even very strong, taste is similar but with malts...At first I thought maybe it was old. The best buy date on it isn't for another 3 weeks. So I decided to go ahead and rate anyways.
